One of the popular K-dramas, Our Beloved Summer, is probably everyone’s favorite. It ticks off all the boxes for a beloved drama: from enemies turned lovers to high school romance and, of course, those heartwarming moments. So, if you have loved OBS, here are a few more recommendations where the drama’s storyline resembles that.
The storyline of Our Beloved Summer revolves around two teenagers, Choi Woong (Choi Woo-Shik) and Kook Yeon-Soo (Kim Da-Mi). They were madly in love in their high school, but after a certain turn of events, they become sworn enemies and decide never to cross each other’s paths.
But fate had something else planned for them. Years later, when one of their filmed documentaries goes viral, they work together. How their relationship dynamics change and their characters evolve is all about the drama.
Lovestruck in the City
Lovestruck in the City is a K-drama that resembles Our Beloved Summer a lot. The storyline revolves around an architect, Park Jae-Won, whose life turns upside down after meeting a free-spirited Lee Eun-Oh.
After being lovers for a while, they suddenly part ways. However, after some time, they meet each other again and slowly reignite their lost love. Starring Ji Chang-Wook and Kim Ji-Won as the lead, the drama unfolds through documentary filming.

Welcome to Samdalri
A high school romance, Welcome to Samdalri, has quite a similar storyline to Our Beloved Summer. Starring Ji Chang-Wook and Shin Hye-Sun in the lead, the narrative revolves around a couple, Cho Young-Pil and Cho Sam-Dal, who break up after some misunderstanding. But still love each other with all their heart.
Years later, when Sam-Dal hits a rough spot in her photography career, she comes back to her island from Seoul. They meet again; love starts to spark. The characters evolve through the drama beautifully.
Watch this on Netflix.
Still 17
The drama Still 17 might not have a similar storyline to Our Beloved Summer, but it gives away the vibe of a high school romance. The narrative delves into Woo Seo-Ri’s (Shin Hye-Sun) life, who, after getting into an accident, goes into a coma for 13 years. When she wakes up, she is 30 years old, but her mentality is still stuck when she is 17.
On the other hand, there’s Gong Woo-Jin (Yang Se-Jong), who doesn’t date anyone after an incident he faced 13 years back. The story revolves around two different people who are still living their 17-year-old selves. How they get connected and fall in love is beautifully portrayed.
This drama can be streamed on ViKi.
Sh**ting Stars
Lovers to strangers troupe – check. Sh**ting Stars features Lee Sung-Kyung and Kim Young-Dae as the lead, and the storyline revolves around the couple’s love-hate relationship.
Once in love, Oh Han-Byul and Gong Tae-Sung broke up for some reason. However, later, when Han-Byul starts working at the PR team of Tae-Sung’s management company, things start to heat up.
Tae-Sung is a star and lives like that but only Han-Byul knows what he is like in real life. Their love-hate relationship grows in different directions. What happens to them, whether they become a couple or not, is shown in the drama.
So, here’s a list of recommended K-dramas to binge-watch if you have loved Our Beloved Summer. And if you haven’t watched that either, stream it on Netflix to enjoy the love story.
