Episode 4 of Lovely Runner arrived on April 16, 2024, on tvN. The preceding episode ended with Im Sol (Kim Hye Yoon) returning to 2023 from 2008 through another time slip. In the latest episode, viewers witness Sol returning to the past with the help of Ryu Sun Jae’s (Byeon Woo Seok) watch again.
Lovely Runner episode 4 also shows Sun Jae trying to distance himself from Im Sol after he sees her agreeing to go out with Kim Tae Sung (Song Geon Hee). In the episode, Sol tries to stop Sun Jae from communicating with CEO Kim Seok-Hyun (Ahn Sang Woo). However, the biggest highlight of the episode is Sun Jae saving Sol from a terrible accident.
Lovely Runner Episode 4: Byeon Woo Seok saves Kim Hye Yoon from getting drowned
The beginning of episode 4 of Lovely Runner shows Im Sol (Kim Hye Yoon) waking up in a hospital in 2023. Someone found her in an unconscious state and brought her to the hospital. She then remembers what has happened to Ryu Sun Jae (Byeon Woo Seok). Thus, she rushes to his funeral with a heavy heart. The security does not let her go inside the funeral room, and she breaks down in tears.
Im Sol decides to return to where she first experienced time slip. She wants to return to the past in 2008 to save Sun Jae. But Sun Jae’s watch does not work, and she fails to time-travel this time. When she returns home, she gets a call from Sun Jae’s friend, Baek In Hyuk (Lee Seung Hyub). He tells her that Sun Jae wanted to apologize to her for some reason. But before he can reveal the reason, the call disconnects. Thereafter, when the clock strikes midnight, Sun Jae’s watch again starts to work, and with the help of the watch, Sol goes back to the past in 2008.
Lovely Runner episode 4 then displays that although Im Sol has returned, a lot has changed in the past, as it has been ten days already since she traveled back to the present. Now, she is Kim Tae Sung’s (Song Geon Hee) girlfriend, and Sun Jae knows about it. Her old self has even lashed out at Sun Jae for trying to talk to her. Thus, Sun Jae is now trying to maintain distance from her. No matter how much Sol tries to communicate with him and mend their relationship, it doesn’t work. Sun Jae refrains from doing so as he is heartbroken by Sol and Tae Sung’s relationship.
Meanwhile, Tae Sung keeps on expecting Sol to behave like his girlfriend. He has no idea that she is the future version of herself. Furthermore, Sol ends up celebrating Tae Sung’s birthday, making him feel special. It looks like Tae Sung’s feelings for Sol have started to grow even more.
After that, in episode 4 of Lovely Runner, Im Sol sees CEO Kim Seok Hyun (Ahn Sang Woo) giving out his card to Sun Jae and Baek In Hyuk. Sol realizes that this is the beginning of Sun Jae’s music career. Thus, she breaks into his house and tears the card. Somehow, she ends up spending a long time in his room after falling unconscious. Sun Jae is completely shocked to see her lying on his room’s floor. The entire situation creates a heart-fluttering moment between the two. But Sun Jae takes her out of his house by covering her with a blanket and carrying her on his shoulder.
At the end of Lovely Runner episode 4, viewers see that while returning home alone at night, Im Sol misses her stop and gets into an uneasy situation with a drunken old man. While trying to get away from him, she falls over a bridge and into the deep water. She almost drowns in the water. But Sun Jae arrives at the spot at the right time to save her from drowning.
After Sun Jae rescues her and brings her out of the water, Sol realizes that Ryu Sun Jae must be the person who saved her in the past from the accident that took away her walking abilities. She becomes extremely emotional and embraces Sun Jae. It creates an intense moment between the two. The episode ends right there.
