K-Drama Lovely Runner Releases Part 1 of OST Lineup

Byeon Woo-Seok‘s new K-drama, Lovely Runner, premiered on April 8 and released the first part of the original soundtrack. The first part contains four OSTs sung by Eclipse, the drama’s fictional band.

tvN’s new weekly K-drama Lovely Runner is based on a web novel named The Best of Tomorrow. The drama follows the story of Sol (Kim Hye Yoon), a devoted fan of idol Ryu Sun-Jae (Byeon Woo-seok). Sol once dreamed about becoming a film director but, due to an injury, gave up on her dream and found peace in Ryu Sun-Jae’s music. However, due to an unfortunate incident, Ryu Sun-Jae passes away, and Sol finds herself back in the past, where she gets a chance to save herself and Sun-Jae.

Lovely Runner releases four OSTs after drama premiere

K-drama Lovely Runner has released four OSTs, “Sudden Shower,” “Run Run,” “You & I” and “No Fate.” All the songs are sung by the drama’s lead actor, Byeon Woo-Seok, and released under the band name Eclipse.

The first track, “Sudden Shower,” sounds almost like an introduction to the mood of the drama. The slow melody combined with Byeon Woo Seok’s vocals provides the song with much-needed warmth. The highlight of the song is its minimalistic, sweet piano arrangement. It also sets the mood for the time-defying love story of the protagonists, Ryu Sun-Jae and Im Sol.

“Run Run” is a stark contrast to “Sudden Shower.” The upbeat rock track starts with groovy guitar riffs and continues with a high tempo throughout. The song gets more intense during the chorus, delivering a cathartic effect. The third song of the drama, “You & I,” is a perfect mishmash of pop and rock.

The final song of part 1, “No Fate,” carries a nostalgic mood throughout, conveying a promise to turn around time. Byeon Woo-Seok’s fresh vocals match perfectly with the song and leave fans feeling uplifted.

Lovely Runner will continue for eight weeks, and its finale will air on May 28, 2024. The drama airs every Monday and Tuesday on tvN and later on Viki.
