K-pop star DKZ Jaechan will be playing the lead role in historical K-drama Check-In Hanyang. After charming fans in BL drama Semantic Error, the 22-year-old will be portraying the role of a protagonist in a youthful historical drama.
Jaechan debuted in K-pop in 2019 as the rapper of the K-pop act Dongkiz, aka DKZ. Soon after his K-pop debut, the rookie idol snagged the chance to star in the BL K-drama Semantic Error alongside former K-pop star Park Seoham. The drama’s global popularity earned him a permanent place in the acting industry and many awards for his small-screen debut.

Park Jaechan is the confirmed lead of Channel A’s upcoming historical K-drama Check-In Hanyang. The “Time” crooner will portray Go Soo-Ra. Jaechan’s Go Soo-Ra is a young man from Hanyang who has vowed not to tolerate injustice. He aims for freedom and dreams to bring justice to the world.
According to reports, Check-In Hanyang is a romantic comedy that tells the chaotic story of a group of young people from the Joseon Dynasty. The story takes a turn when the young folks join Yongcheonru, the most prominent guest house in Joseon, which boasts more luxury and amenities than the king’s palace. The drama comes from the producers who previously backed the famous historical K-drama MBC’s Red Sleeves.
Meanwhile, Jaechan is balancing a perfect mix of music and drama in his career after the popularity of Semantic Error. The DKZ star debuted solo music with the EP JC Factory on September 6, 2023. The mini-album sold over 88,615 copies in South Korea and ranked at number 10 on the Circle Album Chart.
Jaechan’s incredible performance in Semantic Error has also brought him many awards. The “Hello” crooner won the Popular Star Award (Actor) at the 2022 Apan Star Awards. He also won the Best Acting Male Idol Of The Year at the 2022 Brand Of The Year Awards.
