Blood Free: Ju Ji-Hoon reflects on dealing with martial arts director
On April 8, 2024, the actors Ju Ji-Hoon, Han Hyo-Joo, Lee Hee-Jun, and Lee Moo-Saeng, along with director Park Cheol-Hwan, attended a production presentation event. It was held at the Conrad Hotel in Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul. At the event, they discussed their work in Disney Plus’ upcoming project, Blood Free, and shared their insights into their respective roles.
Since Ju Ji-Hoon is featured in several action sequences in Blood Free, he opened up about his experience with the martial director. He said, “I worked a lot with the cinematographer and martial arts director. And it’s a bit of a near-future setting, isn’t it? It was a little difficult for us to set the details.” Ji-Hoon further shared, “In order to make things a little more realistic and diverse, I thought that it would be more persuasive to put it on the ground and be realistic, so I thought a lot about the action genre and made it.”
Ju Ji-Hoon elaborated on the realistic nuances in the stunt choreography of the series. The actor said, “Rather than flashy actions with a lot of sum, we did actions where you could actually feel the touch. Even if you prepare a lot, the chance of injury increases. Nevertheless, I decided to go in that direction and took good pictures.” While piquing the audience’s interest and raising their expectations even further, Ji-Hoon concluded by saying, “It’s a shame I couldn’t show you everything, but I had fun filming it.”
Blood Free is slated to release on April 10, 2024, on Disney Plus.
