tvN’s upcoming K-drama Lovely Runner, starring Kim Hye-Yoon and Byeon Woo-Seok, is creating quite a buzz. Based on a famous web novel written by True Beauty‘s writer Lee Si-Eun, it is a rom-com drama featuring time traveling. A new trailer focuses on Hye-Yoon’s beautiful transformation from a fan to a teenager.
The storyline revolves around a fan, Im Sol (Hye-Yoon), who slips through time 15 years back to save her favorite idol, Ryu Sun-Jae. Woo-Seok plays Sun-Jae in the drama, the famous star. His life looks perfect from the outside; however, from the inside, he lives in anxiety and distress. Soon enough, he meets with a tragic death.
Lovely Runner’s teaser shows unreleased clips between Kim Hye-Yoon & Byeon Woo-Seok
tvN shares a new teaser of Lovely Runner where past Ryu Sun-Jae (Byeon Woo-Seok) interacts with future Im Sol (Hye-Yoon). Sun-Jae in curiosity asks, “Are you really from the future?” to Im Sol. The video clip shows further ups and downs of their evolving relationship. He further asks seeing her gestures and intentions whether she is crazy.
In another part of the video, a sick Im Sol sitting in a wheelchair can be seen saying, “To me, Sun-Jae is a distant existence that cannot be reached like a star in the sky.” Cut to the scene where Ryu Sun-Jae is performing among a crowd, and Im Sol is distressed for not being there since the beginning. In the next scene, as shown in Lovely Runner’s teaser, Ryu Sun-Jae is taken to the hospital. Learning about it, Im Sol (Kim Hye-Yoon) breaks down. She thinks what could have been if she could help him. The video ends as she rushes to him in an emotional state. From then on, how time has slipped her to 15 years back, and what happens next is what the drama is all about.
Lovely Runner is to air on April 8, 2024, at 8:50 p.m. KST on tvN and stream it on Viki.
