In an interview with OSEN, Byeon Woo-Seok spoke about playing a dual role as the 19-year-old teenager and a grown-up K-pop idol Ryu Seon-Jae. He talked about portraying the roles effectively, while also shedding light on his chemistry with Kim Hye-Yoon, who plays his passionate fan Im-Sol. He said, “My chemistry with actress Kim Hye-Yoon was so good that it cannot be expressed in words.” Viewers will only have to wait a bit more to see their chemistry play out on screen.

Popular actor Byeon Woo-Seok expressed his strong desire to act in the upcoming tvN K-drama Lovely Runner. He said, “I was particularly excited and touched by the romantic setting between Seon-Jae and Sol that transcends time and space.” In the series, he plays 19-year-old teenage swimming champion and after growing up, a 34-year-old idol and vocalist of a famous K-pop band.
Byeon Woo-Seok recently played a villain in the 2023 K-drama Strong Girl Nam-Soon. He is also popular for his roles in other successful dramas, including Record of Youth, 20th Century Girl, and others. The actor expressed his desire to break out from just showcasing his charm in youth dramas and experimenting with a variety of other roles.
The Lovely Runner star complimented his chemistry with co-star Kim Hye-Yoon. He said, “I had a firm faith in actress Kim Hye-Yoon, who had a lot of romantic comedy experience, and thanks to that, I was able to act comfortably.” Byeon Woo-Seok also asked viewers to take special note of Seon-Jae holding the umbrella over Im-Sol on the bridge. He noted that these elements have a deeper connection to the story.
Teasing more about the plotline, he said, “In the 34-year-old present, Seon-Jae becomes Sol’s favorite, and in the 19-year-old past, Sol becomes Seon-Jae’s favorite, and they are entangled in a relationship that saves both sides. This is the point of differentiation.”
