Starring Lee Bo-Young, Hide is an upcoming South Korean drama set to air on JTBC. The storyline revolves around a former prosecutor, Na Moon-Young, who goes on a quest to solve the mystery of her missing husband, Cha Sung-Jae (Lee Mu-Saeng).
Moon-Young and Sung-Jae are a happily married couple until one day, the unexpected happens. A car falls down a cliff, followed by the news of Sung-Jae’s disappearance. While some think he has died, Moon-Young is determined to discover the truth. In the process, she unravels some shocking secrets linked to him. Hence, she finds it difficult to trust anyone.
The director of the crime-suspense K-drama is Kim Dong-Hwi and the screenwriter is Yoo Bo-Ra.
Lee Bo-Young’s Hide cast and plot
JTBC K-drama Hide stars Lee Bo-Young in the lead role. She plays a former prosecutor and lawyer, Na Moon-Young, who leaves her agency to find her missing husband.
According to Viki, the official synopsis of the new K-drama reads, “Searching high and low, Moon-Young does everything she can to unlock the secrets surrounding her husband’s sudden disappearance, completely unaware that a man by the name of Do Jin-Woo (Lee Min-Jae) holds an important key. Will her relentless search for the truth ultimately bring her husband home or will her search end in utter heartbreak?”
The main cast of the series includes Bo-Young, Lee Mu-Saeng, Lee Chung-Ah, and Lee Min-Jae. Before Hide, Bo-Young is popularly known for showcasing her acting skills in dramas like See You in My 19th Life, Start-Up, Save the Last Dance for Me, and I Hear Your Voice.
Lee Mu-Saeng plays Cha Sung-Jae, Moon-Young’s husband. His disappearance will be the plot of the storyline. Mu-Saeng is best known for his roles in shows like Maestra: Strings of Truth, Cleaning Up, Thirty-Nine, and Cruel City.
Lee Chung-Ah also plays a pivotal role in the upcoming drama. She plays suspicious Moon-Young’s neighbor. The actress impressed viewers in her dramas My Dearest, Celebrity, and Beautiful World. Another central cast member of Hide is Lee Min-Jae, who will appear as a mysterious character named Do Jin-Woo. The actor appeared earlier in Crash Course in Romance, The Golden Spoon, and Taxi Driver.
Aside from the actors above, the cast includes Jo Eun-Sol, Kim Sang-Ho, Kim Ho-Won, and Park Sun-Woo.
Hide release date and time
K-drama Hide will premiere on Saturday, March 23, 2024, on Coupang Play and JTBC.
Speaking about her role in Hide, Lee Bo-Young told SpotTV News, “I felt frustrated because it was a role that was behind me rather than actively moving. But it was fresh and fun to try acting like this. I chose this script because I was curious about what would happen next as it continued to have twists and turns.”
She added, “I was thinking about how I could create my character because it is a role where I am constantly being bullied.” Further, she stated, “I watched up to Part 6 and asked if they could give me more scripts, and I made a decision. I decided to appear because I had to do it. I was really curious about what was next.”
Consisting of 12 episodes, the K-drama will air twice a week on Saturday and Sunday. It will take the slot of Park Hyung-Sik and Park Shin-Hye starrer Doctor Slump.
