MBC recently shared a lengthy trailer of Chief Detective 1958, starring Lee Je-Hoon in the lead role. This upcoming K-drama revolves around a young and passionate detective who forms a team of four to fight corruption in the system.
Set in the 1950s, the story of the series is a prequel to the popular and classic South Korean drama Chief Inspector which ran for 18 years from 1971 to 1989. Chief Detective 1958 tells the story of Detective Park Young-Han a decade before the original series.
In the newly released trailer, viewers get a deeper look into the lead characters. It shows how Lee Je-Hoon as Park Young-Han finds three unique yet talented detectives and forms a team.

K-drama Chief Detective 1958 trailer begins with the introduction of Lee Je-Hoon’s Park Young-Han. With an intense look, he seems angry in some situations. Further, the video gives a glimpse of his past traumas and that he wants to eradicate corruption.
Young-Han is one of the most talented detectives in his field, with the highest number of arrests. Although he is one of the best, some of his colleagues treat him like a child, which annoys him. He meets three unlikely people and forms a gang of skilled detectives.
The trailer further introduces those three characters — Lee Dong-Hwi as Kim Sang-Soon, Choi Woo-Sung as Jo Kyung-Hwan, and Yoon Hyun-Soo as Seo Ho-Jung. Sang-Soon is known as Mad Dog in his field for chewing up bad guys. Woo-Sung has incredible fighting skills while So-Jung is a part of an elite society who dreams of becoming a popular detective.
Chief Detective 1958 will premiere on Friday, April 19, 2024, at 9.50 p.m. KST on MBC. The crime-thriller K-drama will air on Fridays and Saturdays every week.
