Kang Tae-Oh has been discharged from his military service and is already stirring up the internet with his return to dramas.
He is popularly known for his performances in dramas like Extraordinary Attorney Woo, Run On, and more. However, the actor is now in talks to feature in a new drama.
As per Osen, the actor will feature in tvN’s upcoming drama Potato Research Institute (literal title). Responding to these reports, the South Korean actor’s agency, Man of Creation, reacted. They said, “‘Potato Research Institute’ is a project that Kang Tae Oh is currently positively considering.”

Potato Research Institute is a tvN‘s romantic comedy. Set in the backdrop of a potato research center in a mountain valley, Kang Tae-Oh plays the main lead. His character possesses perfect looks and charm but is an outsider.
If everything goes right, apart from Tae-Oh’s return, writer Kim Ho-Soo and director Kang Il-Soo also collaborate on the project after Rookie Historian Goo Hae Ryung.
If Kang Tae-Oh says yes to the project, this will be his return after his military service. However, the news has not been confirmed yet. For those unversed, he has served in the military since September 20, 2022. The actor was discharged on March 19, 2024.
Potato Research Institute will hit the screens in the latter half of 2024 or early 2025. Kang Tae-Oh’s massive fanbase is eagerly waiting with bated breath to watch their favorite star on their screens.
Kang Tae-Oh’s other notable works are Doom at Your Service, Run On, My First First Love, and more. However, his last work, Extraordinary Attorney Woo, catapulted him to newfound acclaim within the industry.
