MBC recently shared a new poster of the upcoming K-drama Chief Detective 1958. Starring Lee Je-Hoon in the lead role, the series is about a passionate young detective fighting the rising corruption and his skilled team members.
Je-Hoon plays Detective Park Young-Han, who wants to take down corruption. He solves complicated cases with three colleagues — Dong-Hwi as Kim Sang-Soon, Woo-Sung as Jo Kyung-Hwan, and Hyun-Soo as Seo Ho-Jung. They are not regular detectives, as they use unique ways to solve their cases.
In the latest poster, Young-Han’s love interest is introduced. Actress Seo Eun-Soo will play his lover Lee Hae-Joo in Chief Detective 1958.

Chief Detective 1958 poster teases Lee Je-Hoon & Seo Eun-Soo’s romantic relationship
Chief Detective 1958 poster features Lee Je-Hoon’s Park Young-Han & Seo Eun-Soo’s Lee Hae-Joo as a couple. Giving an old rusty vibe, the photo shows the two holding hands with big smiles on their faces. It appears they are either standing in a library or at an office.
The latest poster surely hints at a romantic storyline in the series. Previously, the network released a teaser and the first poster of the drama. According to the trailer, Young-Han will struggle to move on from some traumatic past incidents, which include a blood bath. It further shows him and his three colleagues’ intense walk as they prepare to solve cases.
For those unaware, the upcoming K-drama is the prequel to the original series Chief Inspector. The classic show was quite popular and ran for 18 years, from 1971 to 1989.
Directed by Kim Sung-Hoon, the new Korean drama will also star Jung Soo-Bin, Yoo Dong-Geun, Go Seo-Hee, Kim Min-Jae, Choi Deok-Moon, and Yoo Hae-Jin. Chief Detective 1958 will premiere on April 19, 2024, at 9.50 p.m. KST on MBC. It is set to air on Fridays and Saturdays every week.
