MBC recently dropped a new poster of Chief Detective 1958, starring Lee Je-Hoon in the lead role. The upcoming K-drama revolves around a young and passionate detective with the right skills and team to fight the rising corruption in society.
Set in the 1950s, the series is the prequel to the classic South Korean drama Chief Inspector. It was a popular show that ran for 18 years (1971-1989). The upcoming K-drama will be set many years prior to the original series.
The latest poster of Chief Detective 1958 features Lee Je-Hoon, Lee Dong-Hwi, Choi Woo-Sung, and Yoon Hyun Soo. Take a look here:

In the Chief Detective 1958 poster, Lee Je-Hoon, Lee Dong-Hwi, Choi Woo-Sung, and Yoon Hyun-Soo transform into 50’s characters. While Je-Hoon is the passionate detective named Park Young-Han, the remaining three are his colleagues.
Dong-Hwi plays Kim Sang-Soon, Woo-Sung plays Jo Kyung-Hwan, and Hyun-Soo essays the role of Seo Ho-Jung. In the poster, the four colleagues are suited up, walking on the crowded streets of Jongro in Seoul with smiles on their faces.
A text on the poster reads, “In an era of barbarism, a humane investigation drama by real detectives.” The background, featuring a tram and old-fashioned signboards, adds the 1950s vibe.
Previously, the network released the teaser of the K-drama. It features Park Young-Han giving a fierce, intense look as he narrates, “I want to catch them so badly, but I can’t.” Along with his team of three skilled members, the handsome and determined detective sets on a path to take down corrupted people. Furthermore, the teaser hints at some of Young-Han’s disturbing past incidents.
Chief Detective 1958 will premiere on April 19, 2024, at 9.50 p.m. KST on MBC. The series will air on Fridays and Saturdays every week.
