Doctor Slump aired episode 12 on Sunday, March 3, 2024, at 10:30 p.m. KST on JTBC. The episode is also available to stream on Netflix. The series follows the story of two former high school rivals—Yeo Jeong-Woo (Park Hyung-Sik) and Nam Ha-Neul (Park Shin-Hye)—who reunite 14 years later and become friends during the worst time of their lives. Gradually, they fall in love while supporting each other through their struggles.
Episode 12 of Doctor Slump showcased equal amounts of romance and drama. Yeo Jeong-Woo and Nam Ha-Neul spent time together and began their relationship afresh. However, they also discovered more about their senior, Min Kyung-Min, and his actions. When Ha-Neul went to confront him over his past behavior, the two got into an accident. Unfortunately, this left her injured and unconscious.
Doctor Slump episode 12: Park Hyung-Sik, Park Shin-Hye encounter another speedbump
Doctor Slump episode 12 began with a glimpse into the existing relationships between Yeo Jeong-Woo and Nam Ha-Neul and Bin Dae-Young and Lee Hong-Ran. The two pairs decided to spend some time together. While the former pair was already in a relationship, Bin Dae-Young and Lee Hong-Ran were in the process of getting to know each other.
Jeong-Woo was talking to Ha-Neul on the phone when the latter’s family members, uncle Gong Tae-Seon and brother Nam Ba-Da, took him for drinks. Tae-Seon confronted Jeong-Woo about his intentions and finally approved their relationship as Ha-Neul’s father figure. The drunk trio went out for snacks, coercing Jeong-Woo to buy a soft toy for Ha-Neul. A drunk Jeong-Woo woke up at his girlfriend’s house the following day and shared breakfast with the family.
As Jeong-Woo and Ha-Neul headed to the hospital, the scene shifted to Dae-Young building a playhouse for Hong-Ran’s son. They also shared a meal. Hong-Ran suggested they use three chance stickers when the two single parents needed help with their children. Meanwhile, Ha-Neul gifted her boyfriend a book on plastic surgery and a puppy cap, which Jeong-Woo chose to wear during surgery. He then gifted Ha-Neul with a school field trip, as she’d never been on one.
The couple shopped for clothes and shared some drinks before Ha-Neul spoke about her assumptions about Min Kyung-Min’s actions. She stressed that Kyung-Min might have spiked Jeong-Woo’s drink, which landed him in the hospital previously. However, Jeong-Woo decided to let this slide and only focus on the good things in the present, including spending time with Ha-Neul and her family.
The following day, the two enjoyed themselves on a field trip. Dae-Young and Hong-Ran accompanied them as Jeong-Woo and Ha-Neul doubted their growing connection. At night, Jeong-Woo and Dae-Young reminisced on what caused their fallout. Earlier, Dae-Young wished to volunteer for a medical trip abroad but suffered an accident. Jeong-Woo replaced him on the trip and became a renowned doctor.
Dae-Young explained that he felt jealous of Jeong-Woo. This is because he wanted to go on the trip to flaunt in front of his in-laws amidst a falling marriage. The two apologized to each other and resolved their misunderstanding. While on a stroll, Hong-Ran confessed to Ha-Neul that she had feelings for Dae-Young. Hong-Ran then spoke about Kyung-Min quitting his position at the hospital even though he bullied Ha-Neul to gain the same status.
When Hong-Ran asked Ha-Neul if she should enquire about a known medical reporter for the issue, Ha-Neul expressed that she wanted to focus on her family and friends, which hadn’t mattered much to her previously. Meanwhile, Jeong-Woo discovered from Dae-Young that Kyung-Min used to do drugs and might used the same to spike his drink impulsively. On the other hand, Kyung-Min realized that Jeong-Woo’s former assistant still had one secret camera that may have evidence of Kyung-Min’s actions.
During her visit to the psychiatrist, Ha-Neul spotted a photo of Kyung-Min volunteering for a medical program sponsored by Haesung Pharmaceuticals. Kyung-Min had become the director of the same company. Moreover, she discovered that the company was sponsoring the psychiatrist’s association and another hospital in Macau. This was because the wife of Haesung Pharmaceutical’s president is from Macau.
In a conversation with the medical reporter, Ha-Neul found out that Kyung-Min was developing a pain relief drug to get FDA’s approval. A few years ago, a reporter colluded with a pharmaceutical company to manipulate stock prices. However, the same reporter was the source of rumors about Haesung Pharmaceutical’s new drug development.
The reporter also suspected Haesung Pharmaceuticals’ involvement. Its president had no interest in the field, only taking over the company to make illegal profits. After looking at a picture during research, Ha-Neul realized that the company’s vice president was present during Jeong-Woo’s hearing. She rushed to the police station. Here, her brother was asked to identify the man who had followed Jeong-Woo on the day he had moved into her apartment. Ha-Neul found out that it was Kyung-Min.
She confronted Kyung-Min with all the accusations as she accompanied him during a car drive. Ha-Neul indirectly accused him of manipulating the company’s stocks using a wrong article and a faulty dissertation. She further suspected he had something to do with Jeong-Woo’s medical accident and subsequent scandal. In the end, the two suffered a horrifying accident, leaving them injured.
