Captivating the King episode 13 is set to premiere next week on Netflix and tvN. Starring Jo Jung-Suk as Lee In and Shin Se-Kyung as Kang Hee-Soo/Mong-Woo, the historical K-drama revolves around a misunderstood king and a vengeful baduk player disguised as a man.
At the end of episode 12, Hee-Soo calls for King Lee to take her place. When he arrives, she looks nervous and confused. The king asks if she has a lover waiting in her room or an assassin hiding to kill her. Although he says it as a joke, her expressions are enough for him to figure out the answer.
The trailer of the upcoming episode teases Lee In’s disappearance. While the people wonder about his whereabouts, Hee-Soo looks heartbroken.

The Captivating the King episode 13 trailer begins with King Lee In’s (Jo Jung-Suk) concubine asking if something has happened to him. She is seen sneaking around to find out the truth. It further shows the physician asking the king’s bodyguard, “Is His Majesty the man who lost his consciousness from a wound?”
Meanwhile, Lee In’s mother wants his concubine to get intimate with the king. But she seems more concerned about her past related to the former king’s murder.
The trailer proceeds to Hee-Soo looking pale while shedding tears over her concern about King Lee In’s whereabouts. Next, viewers see him hugging Hee-Soo and saying, “You decided to kill me because you became afraid and sick of me.”
Meanwhile, the assassin, who is Shin Se-Kyung’s character’s friend, has been captured. Regarding the issue, Principal Director Park Jong-Hwan informs Lee In, “Due to the grudges they hold, Kang Mong-Woo and Kim Myung-Ha must have given the order to assassinate you.” The king responds that he will interrogate the traitor himself.
Captivating the King episode 13 will air on Saturday, February 24, 2024, at 9:20 p.m. KST on tvN. The K-drama also streams on Netflix.
