Captivating the King episode 11 spoilers: Jo Jung-Suk covers up Shin Se-Kyung’s crime

In Captivating the King episode 11, Shin Se-Kyung’s Hee-Soo tells King Lee In (Jo Jung-Suk) that she planned an escape for Princess Jangryeong. She sent a court lady in place of her who would also work as a spy at the Qing.

Lee In gets worried that if anyone finds out then war will be followed between two kingdoms. Angry, he asks Hee-Soo why she confessed her crime even after knowing that it is a high treason and she can be executed for it. He further asks, “Did you expect me to forgive your crimes because I am in love with you?” She responds by saying that her actions towards him are unacceptable but her feelings for him are real.

When Principal Director Park Jong-Hwan reports the princess drama to King Lee In, the latter acts surprised. The king initially makes Jong-Hwan believe that he is ready to take action against the culprits. A flashback scene appears, and it reveals that the Principal Director has not seen or verified whether the bride princess was fake or not. Also, Hee-Soo’s statement helps the case in their favor.

Lee In then asks Jong-Hwan if he is sure that the bride is not the princess. With no evidence, Jong-Hwan becomes agitated. The king advises him to let the matter go and if the Qing Prince or anyone else hears about it, Lee In will assume that Jong-Hwan is behind it. Hence, Jo Jung-Suk’s character covers up Hee-Soo’s crime.
