Choi Woo-Shik’s A Killer Paradox Ending Explained & Spoilers: Does Lee Tang Get Caught?

Starring Choi Woo-Shik and Son Suk-Ku, A Killer Paradox is a new Netflix Korean thriller that premiered on Friday, February 9, 2024. The series revolves around a young man becoming a serial killer.

The Netflix thriller follows Parasite actor Choi Woo-Shik’s Lee Tang, a college student working at a department store. One day, in the act of self-defense, he accidentally kills a man. While he is terrified, thinking about the aftermath, he finds out that the deceased was a serial killer.

When he thinks everything is back to normal, a witness appears and threatens him. Another murder in the same area grabs Detective Jang Nan-Gam’s attention. Due to a lack of evidence, the police fail to find the real culprit. However, Nan-Gam believes Tang is the murderer. On the other hand, Woo-Shik’s character realizes that he has a unique power to recognize bad people and continues to kill them.

A Killer Paradox ending & finale spoilers: Did Son Suk-Ku punish Choi Woo-Shik for the murders?

In A Killer Paradox, Choi Woo-Shik’s Lee Tang leaves his family and friends behind and joins Roh-Bin’s (Kim Yo-Han) Heroes. Roh-Bin helps Lee Tang become a vigilante and covers his murders. Meanwhile, Son Suk-Ku’s Nan-Gam tries various methods to catch Tang.

To make matters worse for each party, former detective Song Chon (Lee Hee-Joon) returns to his old methods. He was one of the Roh-Bin’s vigilantes who started killing innocent people in the name of justice. Chon meets Tang and understands why Roh-Bin chose the young man over him.

In the season finale, Nan-Gam and his fellow cops lay a trap for Chon. Roh-Bin decides to flee the country with Tang to save him but eventually realizes that he should be the one to end Chon’s story. He meets Nan-Gam and explains everything, including that Tang only kills criminals. The detective initially doesn’t accept his explanation, but things change when Chon murders Nan-Gam’s sick father.

On the other hand, Tang is waiting for Roh-Bin at a port to flee the place. He then realizes he is not coming and plans to sacrifice himself for him. Tang tracks down his friend at an abandoned factory, where he finds Roh-Bin, Chon, and Nan-Gam. A fight breaks out, and Chon shoots Roh-Bin. Triggered, Nan-Gam is about to shoot Chon when the latter reveals that the detective’s father was a corrupt officer and that Chon sent him to a coma.

Eventually, he kills Chon and points his gun at Tang. Woo-Shik’s character begs him to end his misery, but he lets Tang go. He says that if Tang continues to kill people, one day, he will be caught.

Netflix’s A Killer Paradox: Will there be Season 2?

After Nan-Gam decides not to punish Tang, the latter flees to Thailand. The investigators failed to find any evidence against Tang as the factory caught on fire with the bodies of Chon and Roh-Bin. It is later revealed that Roh-Bin destroyed all the evidence against Tang before he died.

The investigators question Nan-Gam regarding Tang’s involvement in the serial killing cases. The detective gives the young man a second chance and denies the investigators’ suspicions. As a result, Roh-Bin is believed to be the mastermind behind all the chaos, and Tang’s case file is closed as “non-indictment.”

A Killer Paradox ending was nothing short of exciting. Nan-Gam hears a news report stating a man has been found dead, and his DNA links him to several murders. The detective realizes that Tang has returned to South Korea. He once again begins his vigilante mission, and the finale ends with him on the street when his powers activate. Is it a sad or happy ending? Whether they see Woo-Shik’s character as a godsent hero or an unpunished sinner is the viewer’s call.

A Killer Paradox Season 2 is possible, as the first installment concludes with an open ending. However, Netflix has yet to make any official announcement. Watch all eight episodes of the K-drama on the streaming service.
