The long-awaited Hospital Playlist spin-off Resident Playbook will arrive this year. On Thursday, February 8, 2024, tvN released the teaser for the upcoming spin-off, featuring a brand-new set of cast members. The cast will essay the roles of doctors working at Yulje Medical Center’s Jongno Branch. The new cast includes Go Youn-Jung, Shin Shi-Ah, Kang Yoo-Seok, Jung Joon-Won, and Han Ye-Ji, among others.
Resident Playbook acts as the successor of one of the most famous medical K-dramas of all time, Hospital Playlist. It ran for two seasons in 2020-2021 and was loved by avid K-drama fans. Meanwhile, the spin-off will continue to tell the stories of hardworking doctors enduring challenges while managing both their personal and professional lives.
Resident Playbook teaser showcases new cast as doctors in Yulje Medical Center
The newly released teaser of Resident Playbook goes back in time to feature Hospital Playlist cast members, the team that started it all. Jo Jung-Suk, Jeon Mi-Do, Yoo Yeon-Seok, Jung Kyung-Ho, and Kim Dae-Myung were friends from medical school who worked as doctors at the Yulje Medical Center. This team turned out to be one of the most loved casts in K-dramas.
This team now hands over the torch to the new set of cast members, who will play doctors in Resident Playbook. The series follows the ups and downs of a set of OB-GYN doctors at the Yulje Medical Center’s Jongno Branch. The cast, led by Go Youn-Jung, will replicate the grit and determination of their predecessors as they embark on the new journey.
The teaser ends with showing the Yulje Medical Center logo, promising viewers an engaging journey just like before. Unlike Hospital Playlist, Resident Playbook features doctors working in a specific department. Does tvN K-drama Resident Playbook have a release date?
As of now, there is no release date for Resident Playbook. However, tvN announced with the teaser that the series will premiere in the first half of 2024. The spin-off promises to deliver heartwarming tales of doctors working hard to make their patients’ lives better. The series will also be available to stream on Netflix.
