My Happy episode 8 ending: Does Son Ho-Jun finally learn about Jang Na-Ra’s illness?

My Happy Ending episode 8 begins with Seo Jae-Won walking to a bridge at night while talking to her other self. She can see the other version of herself, and the two discuss what they have done before in their life. It seems like the incident when Jae-Won spent the night somewhere else and returned home as a completely new version of herself.

Right after that, the My Happy Ending episode returns to the present moment, where Heo Soon-Young tries to figure out what happened to her wife. He thinks about all the suspicious moments in their lives where Jae-Won has acted strangely. He thinks about how she has begged for forgiveness and asked him to take care of their daughter.

Soon-Young then ponders the moment when Jae-Won returns home and behaves like nothing bad happened to them. She does not even remember the fact that Soon-Young is not her daughter’s biological father and that he has cheated on her with Kwon Yoon-Jin (So Yi-Hyun) to take revenge on her. Thus, it seems like she has completely forgotten about the previous few days.

Later on, at the office, Jae-Won starts behaving like nothing has changed between her and Kwon Yoon-Jin. The latter then realizes that Jae-Won has lost her memory again, as she had witnessed this when they were in high school. In My Happy Ending episode 8, Soon-Young starts to research the medicines Jae-Won has been taking for decades.

He finally goes to a doctor to learn about it, and the latter confirms that the medicines are for bipolar disorder. He also finds out that his wife’s condition has gotten worse, and she may need to be hospitalized soon. Soon-Young is devastated after learning about his wife’s long-term illness. Following his return home, Jae-Won and their daughter throw him a heartfelt surprise birthday party, after which he rushes outside their home and breaks down.

When Jae-Won comes to see him outside, he reveals to her that he knows about her illness and is heartbroken that she has been keeping it a secret from him. Jae-Won also breaks down after that. The next day, Jae-Won meets Kwon Yoon-Jin and discloses to her that her husband has found out about her illness. The latter then persuades her to visit their old high school. Yoon-Jin’s purpose is to make Jae-Won get triggered by old memories from their high school days.

The episode then reveals that initially, Jae-Won’s name was also Yoon-Jin, but she changed it while transferring schools. The episode then shows that the man who took advantage of Jae-Won is the biological father of Jae-Won. However, he may have been Yoon-Jin’s lover at the time. As a result, Yoon-Jin tries to destroy Jae-Won’s family life. However, she is unaware of the fact that Jae-Won was not conscious that night.

At the end of episode 8 of My Happy Ending, both Soon-Young and Yoon Te-Oh (Lee Ki-Taek) arrive at the restaurant where Yoon-Jin and Jae-Won are after they visit their high school. Yoon-Jin begins to talk about things like her desire to marry someone just like Soon-Young. She also talks about Yoon Te-Oh’s feelings for Jae-Won and how Soon-Young’s daughter does not resemble him even a bit. The turn in conversation makes everyone feel uncomfortable, and the episode ends right there.
