Episode 1 of the highly anticipated rom-com K-drama LTNS starring Esom and Ahn Jae-Hong as the central pair Woo-Jin and Samuel, respectively, aired on TVING and Viki on Friday, January 19, 2024. The first episode takes the audience on a hilarious and engaging ride as the series jumps straight into the story’s main plot.
LTNS episode 1 showcases a series of engaging events after introducing Esom’s Woo-Jin and Ahn Jae-Hong’s Samuel as a worn-out married couple. They have lost all the sparks in their seven years of married life. No physical attraction or desire for physical intimacy seems to be left in them. However, soon, the story takes a thrilling turn. They end up accidentally blackmailing one of their friend, who is a married man but having an affair.
LTNS Episode 1: How do Esom & Ahn Jae-Hong begin their business of tracking people having affairs?
The first episode of LTNS begins with a young Woo-Jin (Esom) and Samuel (Ahn Jae-Hong) having a passion-filled intimate moment. They seem deeply attracted to one another, physically. They end up spending an intense night together, making love. The series then jumps to seven years later and shows that the two are now a married couple and do not have the same spark between them.
The married couple even refrains from having any intimate activities as they no longer feel the urge due to the dullness of their lifestyle. Woo-Jin is a hotel receptionist, and Samuel is a taxi driver. Soon, LTNS episode 1 shows that the couple is also having serious financial issues. They have even put their apartment on sale in the market, which is also going down.
Later on, the first episode of the K-drama shows Samuel at work. He takes a passenger who looks quite distrustful, and it also feels like the man is involved in immoral activities. Despite being skeptical of the passenger, Samuel decides to take him on board after he offers him a good amount of money. The man later convinces him to park in a “no parking” zone in return for some extra money.
It is raining heavily that day. Soon, rainwater starts to fill the area, and Samuel’s taxi gets drowned in the water along with him inside. He fails to realize the situation as he falls asleep. When he wakes up, it is too late, and his taxi is severely damaged. Later, when he takes it to a mechanic’s shop, he learns that he won’t get any insurance money for the car as he parked it in the wrong place. It creates a huge financial pressure on him. However, he tries to keep this situation a secret from his wife.
Esom & Ahn Jae-Hong start their affair tracking business by accident
The next day, the two visit their close friend, Jeong-Su, and his wife, Se-Yeon. While at their place, Jeong-Su discloses to Samuel that he is having an affair with another woman. He also tells him that he thinks that the woman he is having an affair with is also having another affair. The two even go out to track that woman. Jeong-Su confronts the woman, and then he, along with Samuel, leaves in his car.
While in the car, Samuel asks him to lend some money for his car, which is his only income source. However, Jeong-Su refuses to lend him any money, saying that it would be an inappropriate thing to do between friends. Later on that day, Samuel ends up disclosing the truth about Jeong-Su’s affair to Woo-Jin. After learning about it, Woo-Jin decides to inform Jeong-Su’s wife.
At the end of episode 1 of LTNS, Jeong-Su finds out from Samuel about the whole situation that could end his marriage with his wife. He then decides to go and see Woo-Jin with Samuel and beg her not to reveal his affair to his wife. There, Woo-Jin, by chance, ends up making Jeong-Su pay a massive amount of money to keep his affair a secret from his wife. Although their friendship with Jeong-Su ends, they gain a lot of money out of the situation.
At the very end of the LTNS episode, Woo-Jin and Samuel buy a fancy car as Samuel’s taxi with Jeong-Su’s money. While driving the new car, the two decide not to live diligently anymore and also come up with the idea of opening their new business of tracking immoral people involved in affairs.
