MBC is working on a new K-drama, Wonderful World, starring Cha Eun-Woo and Kim Nam-Joo in lead roles. The series will premiere on Friday, March 1, 2024, at 9:50 p.m. KST on the network. It follows the story of Eun Soo-Hyun (Kim Nam-Joo), who uncovers the mysteries that led to her son’s death. Cha Eun-Woo plays the role of Kwon Seon-Yul, a mysterious man from a wealthy family who leads a rough life.
Wonderful World is an interesting story that will show Eun Soo-Hyeon’s life. As per Herald Pop’s report, the MBC drama marks Kim Nam-Joo’s return to the small screen after six years. The actress was previously seen in the critically acclaimed series Misty in 2018. Lee Seung Young, known for many popular dramas like the Tracer and Voice series, and Sang Hee-Jeong serve as the directors. Kim Ji-Eun is the writer of the series.
Cha Eun-Woo & Kim Nam-Joo leads the new MBC K-Drama Wonderful World
The upcoming MBC K-drama Wonderful World will follow the story of a mother who uncovers the secrets surrounding her son’s death. Eun Soo-Hyun is a psychology professor and writer who succeeded in making her name in society. However, her life takes a turn for the worse when she loses her son. While she was previously gentle and kind with her husband and son, Soo-Hyun falls into depression after her son’s death. Realizing it’s a murder, she vows to avenge her son’s death by punishing the criminal.
Meanwhile, the Herald Pop report describes Kwon Seon-Yul as a charming young man from a wealthy family. However, he chooses a rough life of his own. Although he appears cold on the outside, he has a warm heart and will play a pivotal role in Soo-Hyun’s life. Other cast members include Soo-Hyun’s husband, Kang Soo-Ho (Kim Kang-Woo). He is a former reporter who believes in bringing justice through his work. He tries to manage his broken family after the incident.
Lim Se-Mi plays Soo-Hyun’s sister-like figure, Han Yu-Ri, the CEO of Cheongdam Edit Shop. She will share a sibling-like relationship with Soo-Hyun. Furthermore, it looks like a light-hearted relationship in the midst of tension and high emotions.
Other supporting cast members include Park Hyuk-Kwon (Kim Jun), Gil Hae-Yeon (Jung Myung-Hee), Cha Soo-Yeon (Yoon Hye-Geum), Oh Man-Seok (Kwon Ji-woong), Kang Myeong-Ju (Kim Eun-Min), Jin Geon-Woo (Kang Tae-Ho), Yang Hye-Ji (Hong Soo-Jin), Kim Woo-Hun (Yong-Gu), Lim Ji-Seop (Kwon Min-Hyuk), and Lee Jun (Kang Geon-Woo).
Speaking about playing the role of a mother in the drama, Kim Nam-Joo relies on her experience as a mother of two children. She said, “My earnest maternal love moved my heart.” Meanwhile, Cha Eun-Woo said, “It is a drama that gives you many heartwarming feelings through the process of people with similar pain healing each other.”
