At the end of episode 3, Crown Prince Sajo Hyeon takes over his mind and locks away his alter ego, Ak-Hee. Meanwhile, Consort Hyo/Kyera’s memory returns, and she plans to continue with her revenge plan on the king.
Following this, episode 4 begins with her pulling a knife behind Sajo Hyeon while hugging him, but she stops and acts like she still doesn’t have her memories. Throughout the episode, the plot hints at Kyera’s intention of killing the king.

In Love Song for Illusion episode 4, Park Ji-Hoon’s Sajo Hyeon locks away his alter ego, Ak-Hee. But without him, the crown prince finds it difficult to act bravely in front of his father, who is the king. However, Kyera comforts him when he reveals his childhood trauma.
Until now, Kyera blamed the king and his son for her family’s tragedy. She didn’t know that Sajo Hyeon wanted to save her in the past. In episode 4, the crown prince opens up to her about his father’s torment when he forced Sajo Hyeon to witness a massacre when he was a child. Kyera realizes that he referred to the murder of her family.
He mentions that he still cannot forget that girl child’s eyes. Because of that trauma, the alternate personality, Ak-Hee, took birth inside his mind. With sympathy in her eyes, Kyera says to herself, “This man remembers that day. That day has become a deep wound for him, just like me.” She then moves towards Sajo Hyeon and hugs him, creating a romantic atmosphere around the pair.
For context, Kyera became an assassin after the king killed her family when she was a child. Her real name is Yeon Wol, and she is the descendant of a noble family.
Love Song for Illusion episode 4 ending: The king is dead
In Love Song for Illusion episode 4, Hong Ye-Ji’s Kyera becomes closer to the king after helping him with medical remedies. Towards the end, Park Ji-Hoon’s Sajo Hyeon seems to have developed feelings for Kyera and decides to stop her from leaving the palace.
Things get complicated when the crown princess reveals to him that she is the assassin and is the only daughter of General Yeon Poong-Hak, who was executed 10 years ago. She warns him that the king’s life is in danger. He rushes towards his father’s cottage and finds Kyera leaving the room. She went there to treat the king for pain.
Before Sajo Hyeon can ask her anything, she says that she will leave the palace, which he mentioned earlier. She reveals that her memory has returned. The crown prince looks heartbroken as he asks if her feelings were sincere when they hugged the other night. He then asks whether she is Yeon Wol, leaving her in shock. While asking her why she lied to him, a guard informs Sajo Hyeon about the king. When he enters the chamber, he sees his father lying dead with a needle pierced deeply into his neck.
Love Song for Illusion episode 4 ends with Sajo Hyeon asking Kyera how she could kill the king. In response, she says, “I didn’t do it!”
