Single’s Inferno 3 Episode 9 Recap & Spoilers: Why Is Lee Gwan-Hee Conflicted in His Choice?

The much-awaited Korean dating show Single’s Inferno 3 aired a brand-new episode 9 on Tuesday, January 2, 2023, at 5 p.m. KST on Netflix. The series features a new set of eligible singles, both men and women, looking for love and a potential partner. All of them gather at the Inferno, where they spend time with each other and participate in a variety of challenges. The winners get to choose their partner to take to Paradise, where they get to know each other better.

In Episode 9 of Single’s Inferno, Lee Gwan-Hee remained conflicted in his choices. He struggled to choose between Choi Hye-Seon and Cho Min-Ji. While he is drawn to Hye-Seon since the beginning, he also developed a strong connection with Min-Ji. Although he almost finalized his choice as Min-Ji, his one final date with Hye-Seon shifted his perception once again. Viewers will have to wait until next week to know who he leaves Inferno with.

Single’s Inferno 3 Episode 9: Lee Gwan-Hee struggles to choose between Choi Hye-Seon & Cho Min-Ji

The latest episode 9 of Single’s Inferno began with the previous episode’s cliffhanger. Choi Hye-Seon, Cho Min-Ji, and Yun Ha-Jeong battled it out in the final round of the chicken fight challenge to claim first place. All three women hoped to come first so they could pick Lee Gwan-Hee to go to Paradise with. The latter jokingly termed the challenge “Lee Gwan-Hee’s Derby.” Eventually, Hye-Seon came first, Ha-Jeong placed second, and Min-Ji ranked third.

Min-Ji was extremely emotional over the loss, considering she wanted to spend time with Gwan-Hee in Paradise. After the challenge, Yu Si-Eun made up for her lost time with Choi Min-Woo. The two clearly expressed their interest in one another. They held hands and strolled through the beach, with Min-Woo explicitly stating that he’d made his final choice.

Min-Ji met with Gwan-Hee ahead of the Paradise choices. She handed him a letter that said, “I had no second choice.” It turns out Gwan-Hee had previously asked her to write one for him while they were in Paradise. Gwan-Hee advised Min-Ji to take Lee Jin-Seok to Paradise and not Park Min-Kyu. Meanwhile, Min-Ji stressed that Hye-Seon would choose him. However, Gwan-Hee told her that the men felt like Hye-Seon would go with Son Won-Ik.

Ahead of the final Paradise choices, Ha-Jeong navigated her feelings towards Gwan-Hee. However, he expressed that the duo had drifted apart soon after their date in Paradise. Ha-Jeong also agreed that the constant rift between the two and her subsequent apology might have hindered their relationship. Eventually, Hye-Seon chose Gwan-Hee, Ha-Jeong went with Yun Ha-Bin, and Min-Ji went with Min-Kyu.

On the helicopter ride, Min-Ji poked Gwan-Hee, who was sitting right beside her. But when he avoided her, she began to cry, and Min-Kyu comforted her. When they reached Paradise, Gwan-Hee and Hye-Seon realized that the setting was similar to their first date a week ago. The duo felt that it had all come to a circle. Gwan-Hee revealed that he couldn’t stop thinking about her. Meanwhile, Hye-Seon felt that she could be herself with Gwan-Hee, unlike her bond with Won-Ik.

On the other hand, Min-Ji navigated her feelings towards Gwan-Hee and broke down once more in front of Min-Kyu. Meanwhile, Gwan-Hee spent some quality time with Hye-Seon in the hot tub even after Min-Ji had advised against it. The two flirted with each other, with Gwan-Hee even offering Hye-Seon to sleep together at the end of episode 9.

Gwan-Hee still remains conflicted between Hye-Seon and Min-Ji. He even noted that if Hye-Seon hadn’t picked him for Paradise, he would have gone with Min-Ji as his final choice. If the preview for the final episodes is anything to go by, Gwan-Hee’s breakdown is only going to make his choice tougher. Who will he go with? Only time will tell.

To find out all the cast members’ final choices, tune in to Single’s Inferno 3 Episodes 10 and 11 on Tuesday, January 9, 2024, at 5 p.m. KST on Netflix.
