Episode 5 of My Man Is Cupid arrived on Friday, December 15, 2023, on Amazon Prime Video. Heo Sung-Hee has written the fantasy rom-com K-Drama, while Nam Tae-Jin has helmed the series. Nana and Jang Dong-Yoon portray the prime characters Baek-Ryun and Cheon Sang-Hyuk, respectively. The series also features Park Ki-Woong as police inspector Seo Jae-Hee.
My Man Is Cupid chronicles the intriguing love story of a charming veterinarian Baek-Ryun and a charismatic fairy Cheon Sang-Hyuk, who is currently living among humans after getting his wings scorched. Baek-Ryun has become a witness to the abduction of a woman and got involved in the case of a serial killer. In episode 5, Sang-Hyuk tries to save her from the killer on the loose. The new episode also showcases Baek-Ryun confessing her romantic feelings for Sang-Hyuk.
My Man Is Cupid Episode 5: Baek-Ryun expresses her feeling for Sang-Hyuk
My Man Is Cupid episode 5 focuses on two different plotlines of the series. It shows various angles of the ongoing serial killer case and displays its connection to a similar case that took place back in 1993. On the other hand, the episode also sheds light on the romantic feelings of both Baek-Ryuna and Sang-Hyuk.
Throughout the episode, Sang-Hyuk and police officer Seo Jae-Hee are looking for clues to catch the sinister serial killer who has killed several witnesses of the kidnapping of the 40-year-old woman. Sang-Hyuk soon realizes that the killer is the same one or somehow related to the one from the ‘1993 missing Polka Dot High School Girls’ case. Meanwhile, officer Jae-Hee finds out another witness of the abduction. He talks to her about the day of the incident.
Later on, it is revealed that the killer has also killed that witness. Thus, the case has all the police officers worried. Sang-Hyuk tries to show Jae-Hee the evidence that connects this serial killer cast to the 1993 case. However, Jae-Hee rejects his theory as he believes the story to be mere fiction.
In the meantime, Baek-Ryuna’s romantic feelings for Sang-Hyuk begin to grow and she keeps on praying for him to become her soulmate. Sang-Hyuk also clearly has feelings for her but is in denial. He decides to find a good match for Baek-Ryuna, which makes her furious. Towards the end of the episode, she can no longer hold her feelings for him and boldly confesses that she likes him and wants to be with him.
However, Sang-Hyuk breaks her heart. He tells her that he is only being friendly to her because he pities her. He also says that he has been looking for a man for Baek-Ryuna, and he does not have any feelings for her. Sang-Hyuk breaks down after listening to his harsh words.
Sang-Hyuk and Jae-Hee find out that Baek-Ryuna is another witness in the serial killer case in Episode 5
At the end of My Man Is Cupid Episode 5, both Jae-Hee and Sang-Hyuk find out that Baek-Ryuna is another witness of the ongoing serial killer case. Thus they both start looking for her to keep her safe from the killer. Meanwhile, Baek-Ryuna visits her spot at the top of the mountain to complete her prayer for her soulmate.
While praying she feels someone looking at her from behind. She becomes afraid and almost falls from the mountain. However, Jae-Hee arrives there at the correct time and pulls her in and saves her. The two then arrive at the police station where they see a wounded Sang-Hyuk asking the others to look for Baek-Ryuna in the mountain area. His wounds are a result of his master’s rage.
Seeing Sang-Hyuk’s wounds, she starts to treat her immediately, invoking the feeling of jealousy in Jae-Hee. Both men decide to take her home safely. The episode ends with Jae-Hee and Sang-Hyuk asking Baek-Ryuna who she wants to go home with.
