A Bloody Lucky Day ending: Is Lee Byeong-Min punished for his heinous crimes?
The finale episode of A Bloody Lucky Day opens with a severely injured Chae-Ri and Se-Na on the floor of the place where Lee Byeong-Min has kept them hostage. After gaining consciousness, Se-Na tries to wake Chae-Ri up so that they can escape from there. Meanwhile, Byeong-Min gets a call from his father-in-law, informing him that his wife, No Hyun-Ji, has not returned.
Soon, Byeong-Min receives another call. This time it is from Oh Taek, who tells him that he has kidnapped Byeong-Min’s pregnant wife, Hyun-Ji. Oh Taek then goes on to put pressure on him to confess to his crimes by threatening him. He tells Byeong-Min that if he does not confess, he will kill both Byeong-Min’s wife and his unborn child. To stop Oh Taek, Byeong-Min reveals that he still has both Se-Na and Chae-Ri alive with him. So, if he does anything to his wife, Byeong-Min will murder both of them.
Being aware of Byeong-Min’s heinous nature, Oh Taek believes that Chae-Ri will not be able to come out of that place alive. Thus, he refuses to listen to Byeong-Min and tells him that Oh Taek will end Hyun-Ji’s life, along with their unborn child. Byeong-Min gets furious and tries to burn both Se-Na and Chae-Ri alive. However, they somehow manage to get away from him and run outside. Byeong-Min begins to chase them.
Additionally, the police officers are trying to trace Oh Taek’s calls with the help of his son and Chae-Ri’s father. They are trying to locate both Oh Taek and Byeong-Min. Meanwhile, while running away from Byeong-Min, Se-Na and Chae-Ri end up in a forest. When the killer finally catches them, the two fall into a deep pit. Byeong-Min thinks that they are dead.
In the meantime, Oh Taek tries to kill Hyun-Ji to take revenge for his daughter’s death. However, he fails to do so and apologizes to her while breaking down. Hyun-Ji then helps him to locate her husband as she has learned all about his criminal acts. Finally, Oh Taek and Byeong-Min face one another at the burned-down place. In a striking fight sequence, Oh Taek ends up making Byeong-Min blind. He almost ends his life but is stopped by the police and his son.
At the end of the finale of A Bloody Lucky Day, Byeong-Min receives a death sentence from the judge for his unthinkable crimes despite his psychological issue plea. He has killed a total of thirteen people. Thus, he is punished for his crimes. Oh Taek also goes to jail for his crimes.
When he is released from prison, he goes to see his son, daughter-in-law, and grandchild at the beach and spends some emotional and good time with them. The series ends with Oh Taek driving his taxi and imagining Hwang Soon-Kyu, her son, his wife, and his daughter enjoying their lives.
