The mega-hit Korean series Squid Game will return with another season on Netflix. On Thursday, December 7, 2023, a part of the Squid Game 2 set was shown to a few selected press members, giving a brief glimpse into what is about to come in the upcoming season of the survival thriller series.
As per allkpop, the showcasing of the Squid Game 2 set took place in Chungcheong Province, South Korea. Many important people associated with the series were also present at the event, including director Hwang Dong-Hyuk, First Man Studio’s representative Kim Ji-Yeon, and art director Cha Gyeong-Seon.
A glimpse of Netflix’s Squid Game 2 set disclosed to the media
At the December 7, 2023, press event, two crucial sets were revealed to the media. These two sets are important aspects of Squid Game 2. As reported by allkpop, photography of the sets was strictly prohibited. However, a photo currently being circulated online shows the real set’s picture.
During the event, director Hwang Dong-Hyuk talked about Squid Game 2. He said, “Since July, we’ve been immersed in the filming of Season 2, fueled by the interest and support of many. The sense of responsibility is substantial, but I’m committed to delivering a work that lives up to everyone’s patience.” He further said, “Anticipate a more profound narrative and message in Season 2, unfolding alongside new games and characters.”
Kim Ji-Yeon, the representative of First Man Studio, also expressed his gratefulness for the show’s success, saying, “Thank you for making the journey here,…To meet the global interest and expectations for Season 2, the entire production and cast are dedicated to creating an exceptional piece. We seek your ongoing support.”
