Starring Song Kang, Sweet Home 2 debuted on Netflix this Friday, December 1, 2023. Set in an apocalyptic world, the series revolves around humans, monsters, and half-monsters or special infectees. Since its release, the new season has received many positive responses from viewers due to its highly thrilling storylines and startling ending.
The final episode of Song Kang’s Sweet Home 2 shows bloodshed and many deaths. It also has several astounding plot twists. The ending of the second season displays the return of Eun-Hyeok, one of the most significant characters in the series. But what does his return mean for the Netflix show?
Song Kang’s Sweet Home 2 Ending: Is Eun-Hyeok alive?
Sweet Home 2 finale sees a series of rattling incidents. In the episode, Chief Ji is seen taking and dumping Seung Wan after he starts showing signs of infection. Meanwhile, Sergeant Kim and his fellow soldiers begin looking for their friend. During their search, they come across a little girl and rescue her.
Following this, the girl leads them to the place where the missing soldier is held captive. When asked to open the cell, the little girl informs Sergeant Kim that the place is built for people with symptoms. Soon, they encounter a man who refuses to allow them to look around the place. When Seargent Kim shoots the man, he immediately asks the girl to put him down. The little girl also turns out to be a monster.
Towards the end of the Sweet Home 2 finale, Yi-Kyung gets into a critical condition due to monoxide poisoning and almost dies. At this point, Hyun Su decides to bring Yi-Kyung’s daughter since her mother is practically dead. Moments later, Yi-Kyung starts to turn into a monster. After her transformation, she gets into a fight with Hyun Su.
While fighting her, he sees her old memories, and in an emotional moment, he tosses her away. He had no choice but to kill her. On the other hand, Hyun Su loses consciousness. After he wakes up, he sees Eun-Yu, who asks his human side to return. The two come close, and Hyun Su asks her what they should do.
Meanwhile, Dr. Lim rests with the centipede and talks to it while everything begins to collapse. All of a sudden, Sang-Wook returns to Dr. Lim. When the doctor asks for his identity, he destroys the glass vessel of the MH-1 test subject and the water, along with the test subject, comes out on the ground. As Dr. Lim expresses his shock, Sang-Wook reveals his identity and shows the former his face. However, the revelation perplexes the doctor.
But the biggest twist of Sweet Home 2 takes place at the very end. At the site where the Green Home stood, the embryo throws out another person, a man. He then walks out among the monsters, completely naked, as if newly born. The monsters are even scared of him. The man turns out to be Eun-Hyeok. The finale ends with the man’s blank face looking around the apocalyptic world.
Viewers will know what happens next in the upcoming season 3 of Sweet Home, which will arrive on Netflix in the summer of 2024.
