Sweet Home 2, the highly anticipated second season of the hit Netflix apocalyptic action-thriller series, finally arrived on the streaming platform this Friday, December 1, 2023. The series stars popular South Korean actors Song Kang, Lee Si-Young, Go Min-Si, and Lee Jin-Wook in the lead roles. Lee Eung-Bok, Park So-Hyun, and Jang Young-Woo serve as directors of the series.
Followers of the series have been eagerly waiting to learn what will unfold in the first episode of Sweet Home 2 after the first season ends with an astounding cliffhanger. The finale of Season 1 ended with Cha Hyun-Soo waking up inside a military truck and seeing that Pyeon Sang-Wook was driving the truck. Episode 1 of the second season showcases that the driver is Jung Ui-Myeong, possessing Sang-Wook’s body.
Sweet Home 2 Episode 1 Recap & Spoilers: Jung Ui-Myeong has hijacked the military truck carrying Cha Hyun-Soo
The ending of Sweet Home season 1 finale shocked viewers by showing Sang-Wook driving the military truck, taking Cha Hyun-Soo to the military base. The first episode of Sweet Home 2 displays Cha Hyun-Soo gaining consciousness inside the truck. Sang-Wook then calls his name while driving the military truck. As soon as he hears his name, Hyun-Soo realizes that the driver is not Pyeon Sang-Wook but Jung Ui-Myeong, who has taken Sang-Wook’s body as a host.
Ui-Myeong has hijacked the military truck because he wants to take Hyun-Soo away from the military authorities so that they are unable to experiment with his body. The military is currently conducting experiments on special infectees, like Hyun-Soo, who are now known as neohumans, at the command centre in Bamseom, guided by Dr. Lim, who believes that humankind is a kind of virus and monsters are the vaccine.
Although the military is chasing after Ui-Myeong’s truck with Hyun-Soo, he somehow gets away. However, towards the end of the episode, Ui-Myeong gets highly injured. Despite his pleadings, Hyun-Soo tries to drag him to the Bamseom command centre. However, the episode ends with Hyun-Soo getting shot by the military on his way to the centre.
