Lee Se-Young plays the role of a 19th century woman named Park Yeon-Woo and Bae In-Hyuk essays the role of 21st century man Kang Tae-Ha. Yeon-Woo accidentally travels through time from past to present and meets her late husband’s look-alike Tae-Ha.
The forthcoming South Korean drama series is based on a webcomic titled Yeolnyeoparkssi Gyeyakgyeolhondyeon. The writers were Kim Neo-Wool, Angelique, and Dadda (illustrator).

The Story of Park’s Marriage Contract follows Park Yeon-Woo from 19th century Korea dreaming of living happily ever after with her husband. But her nightmare begins when she finds out on her wedding night that her dear husband has a heart condition. He kept it a secret and died minutes after telling the truth.
Things go bad to worse when devastated Yeon-Woo is kidnapped and thrown into a well. The mysterious plot doesn’t end here as the well turned out to be a time portal to the 21st century. She lands in a swimming pool where Kang Tae-Ha saves her. When she regains her conciseness, she sees her dead husband alive and thus hugs him. However, she soon realizes that she is in a different time and that her savior is not her husband.
He is Kang Tae-Ha, a successor of SH Seoul Corporation. The K-drama throws in another twist. Tae-Na, too, suffers from a heart condition.
He is single and not keen on a romantic relationship. But he must marry because his ill grandfather’s last wish is to see his grandson married. Hence, Tae-Na convinces Yeon-Woo to enter into a contract marriage. Will the 19th-century old-fashioned Yeon-Woo agree to Tae-Ha’s terms?

The Story of Park’s Marriage Contract will premiere on Friday, November 24, 2023, at 9.50 p.m. KST on MBC. It will take the slot of the ongoing K-drama, My Dearest Part 2.
The South Korean drama will consist of 12 episodes. New episodes will air every Friday and Saturday on the network and Viki.
MBC has released many teasers, trailers, and photos for the upcoming drama. One of the previews showed Lee Se-Young ’s Yeon-Woo trying to adjust to the modern world. The previews included several heart-fluttering moments between the lead cast.
The recently released trailer features Tae-Ha saying, “I had a strange dream. It was you from Joseon.” The next scene shows Yeon-Woo hugging Tae-Ha, thinking he’s her husband from the past. She tries to convince him that his vision is true. In response, he says, “She’s either crazy or ill.”
The clip further shows a jealous Tae-Ha when he sees Yeon-Woo with another man. He claims that his life has gone upside down since her arrival.
The Story of Park’s Marriage Contract is a romance comedy drama all set to premiere this November on MBC.
