Popular K-drama, Doom At Your Service, released on May 10, 2021, on tvN and Netflix. The series stars Park Bo-Young and Seo In-Guk as leads. The series follows the story of a young woman Dong-Kyung, who gets a brain tumor diagnosis and is left with only 100 days to live. Frustrated by her situation, she shouts for the destruction of the world, only to have doom named Myul-Mang come to live with her.
Doom At Your Service comprises 16 episodes, following the love story between the human and the doom. By the final episode, the drama left several loose ends, which were explained indirectly. However, the series ended happily, with Dong-Kyung defeating her illness as well as Myul-Mang being born as a mortal human being. The two vow to live happily ever after.
Doom At Your Service Episode 16 ends on a happy note
The final episode of Doom At Your Service begins with Myul-Mang making his return to Dong-Kyung as a human. She keeps staring at him in disbelief on the bus. Once they get down, Myul-Mang reveals that he is reborn as a human, admitting that he’s in no control of the weather anymore. While Dong-Kyung is happy and hugs him tight, she feels it’s all a dream.
The following day, Myul-Mang explains that his sacrifice for Dong-Kyung helped him return as a human. He confessed to blooming into a flower in the garden, where initially he was just a butterfly. Dong-Kyung doesn’t want him out of sight and takes him to her office, hiring him as the chauffeur to drive her here and there.
Soon she travels with Myul-Mang for a meeting with Dalgona. The former doom reveals that he knows about Dalgona’s feelings towards Dong-Kyung. He promises Dalgona that he’ll marry Dong-Kyung. While Dalgona is about to leave, Dong-Kyung asks him to wait, setting him up with a fellow writer as well as getting her contract signed.
Later, Myul-Mang accompanies Dong-Kyung for a family dinner, where he meets Sun-Kyung and Kevin. When asked what he wants to accomplish, Myul-Mang reveals that he will go back to being a doctor. The following evening, Myul-Mang resumes his work at the hospital. He now goes by Kim Saram, as Dong-Kyung named him.
Later on in the episode, both, Myul-Mang and Dong-Kyung talk about their past memories together while living in their respective homes. As the latter goes to sleep, she meets Son-Yeoshin in her dreams, who shows her the cosmos plant. Son-Yeoshin explains the reason behind choosing Dong-Kyung to go through all the hardships. She was confident that the latter would overcome everything that come her way.
By the end of the episode, Myul-Mang and Dong-Kyung stand under the shooting stars to make their wishes. It ends on a happy note with the two wanting to get married and stay together forever.
