The two finally unite after going through multiple emotions over the years.

Soundtrack #1 finale recap: Do Park Hyung-Sik & Han So-Hee get together?

In the final episode of Soundtrack #1, it has been a year since Lee Eun-Soo and Han Seon-Woo met. The former becomes a successful lyricist, even writing a song for one of the most popular artists. Eun-Soo’s day goes about writing lyrics, drinking tea, cooking, and cleaning while sending pictures of her life to Seon-Woo.

As time goes on, Seon-Woo’s messages keep decreasing, documenting that the distance is getting too long for the two to be together. To keep his memories fresh, Eun-Soo keeps the scarf he gave close to her, indicating that this is her only way to keep thinking and talking to him. Eun-Soo finally realizes her feelings towards Seon-Woo, but wonders if it’s too late.

Meanwhile, Producer Kang (Kim Joo-Heon) invites Eun-Soo for dinner. The former, once again, confesses his love for her. However, this time, she comes clean about her feelings towards Seon-Woo, clarifying her stance once and for all. She expresses not feeling any excitement even after sitting at the table with him. She also notes that she never fell in love with wine, no matter how many times she consumed it.

Later, Eun-Soo’s mother visits and encourages her daughter to sit for a Tarot reading session. Eun-Soo picks up a card that Seon-Woo had picked a while ago, which indicates someone being close but still far away. To Eun-Soo, it felt like a sign for her to waste no time in confessing her feelings towards Seon-Woo when the right opportunity arrives.

Eun-Soo’s prayers are heard when she finds Seon-Woo’s confession inside a necklace on a toy. She leaves him a message which goes unanswered. But that is only because Seon-Woo makes his way back to Korea. Although he’s here for a short period of time, Eun-Soo makes every moment count. She confesses her feelings through actions but not words.

However, Eun-Soo is faced with another challenge. Seon-Woo’s junior Kim Seo-Yeon (Yoon Seo-Ah) from art school accompanies him. Eun-Soo instantly feels jealous about the two of them spending time together, and reflects on how Seon-Woo would’ve felt every time he saw her with a man. Matters turn worse when Seo-Yeon confesses her feelings for Seon-Woo.

Seon-Woo, however, politely rejects her, stating that they are two professionals and should remain the same. When Eun-Soo asks him what he would’ve done if she confessed to him, he explains that she would’ve met the same fate as Seo-Yeon. He reflects on what Eun-Soo herself said in the past about them being just friends.

Only this time, Eun-Soo is ready to fight for her love. She borrows her friends’ restaurant for a night and calls Seon-Woo there. She hands him a song that she’s been working on, noting that she isn’t able to come up with a last line because of Seon-Woo. Eun-Soo explains she realized it was love when he left the country and apologized for realizing it too late.

After a long thought, Seon-Woo grabs a pen and completes the last line. He writes, “Please stay by my side. I love you.” It seems like Seon-Woo always knew that Eun-Soo loved him, given that he’d seen her cry when he left for his military enlistment. It seemed like he was only waiting for her to realize it all on her own.

All episodes of Soundtrack #1 are currently streaming on Disney Plus.
