In a preview clip released by Netflix on October 19, 2023, Yang Se-jong‘s character is seen talking to Lee Doona, presumably at his university. After a brief but interesting discussion, the former K-pop idol asks him not to fall in love with her. While Se-jong sounds confident in not falling for her, viewers will have to stay tuned to find out how their love story develops.

Lee Doona (Bae Suzy) is seen walking up to Lee Won-jun’s (Yang Se-jong) university class and sitting beside him. Expressing that they had a chance encounter while sitting next to each other in a shop, she makes it evident that they are from two different universes. The scene shifts to Doona walking around the university while Se-jong saves her phone number now that they share a house.
It will be interesting to see how two individuals from completely different backgrounds share a space and eventually fall in love. In the preview clip, Se-jong asks Doona if she’s okay with people recognizing her. Doona explains that people won’t recognize her if she dresses differently, noting how Se-jong himself failed at doing so.
As they walk back, Doona tells Se-jong, “I’m telling you this just in case, but don’t fall for me either.” Se-jong assures her that there’s “no danger of that happening.” Doona theb flips her hair and says, “You never know,” indicating the development of an iconic love story in the future.

The upcoming K-drama is set for a nine-episode run, with the show premiering on October 20, 2023, on Netflix. Doona! adds itself to the list of webtoon adaptations as the story follows Min Song-ah’s webtoon, titled Lee Doo-na! or The Girl Downstairs.
Bae Suzy returns to the K-drama scene after a brief hiatus, considering she was last seen in the series Anna in 2022. Doona! marks Yang Se-jong’s first project after his military enlistment.
