Popular K-drama Twinkling Watermelon will air a new episode on Tuesday, October 17, 2023, at 8:50 p.m. KST on tvN and will also be available to stream on Viki. Episode 7 of Twinkling Watermelon saw Lee Chan (Choi Hyun Wook) being beaten up by bullies while searching for Eun-gyeol (Ryeoun). However, it looks like the beating will cost him more than anyone could ever anticipate in episode 8. On the other hand, Cheong-ah (Shin Eun-soo) is seen trying to wake him up, which means that she finds him in an unconscious state. This incident marks a new turn for the characters as more drama would unfold in the upcoming episode.

Episode 8 of Twinkling Watermelon is expected to be tense if the photo stills and the teaser are anything to go by. tvN released the official photos on October 17, 2023, which showed an unconscious Lee Chan lying on the ground after being beaten up severely. Cheong-ah is seen trying to wake him up and presumably taking him to the hospital.
Lee Chan also seems to be in discomfort with his hand placed on his left ear. It looks like the beating caused him hearing loss. He is also seen giving a hearing test in the teaser, which could mean that he has suffered an impairment that Eun-gyeol had been trying to prevent him from. Moreover, Lee Chan looks shocked at the end of the preview when he couldn’t speak, indicating a potential speech loss.
Meanwhile, Eun-gyeol is seen helping Cheong-ah make sense of the world and protect her from her stepmother. He realizes that Cheong-ah is none other than his mother and helps her to communicate using sign language.
In the previous episode, Su-kyung’s identity was revealed. It is her daughter Eun-yu from the future who hopes to change her parents’ future by making her mother stay with her first love. While she thinks Lee Chan is her mother’s first love, only time will tell if she is right.
