Part 2 of the much-awaited South Korean drama series, My Dearest, releases on Friday, October 13, 2023. Lead stars Namkoong Min and Ahn Eun-jin return as Lee Jang-hyun and Yoo Gil-chae in the upcoming Episode 11.
In the My Dearest Part 1 ending, the star-crossed lovers parted ways, leaving fans disappointed and concerned about the future of the characters. The latest teaser trailer clips, released before the premiere, show Jang-hyun reminiscing about his moments with Gil-chae before she refused to be with him.
In one of the videos, the lead characters are seen carrying out rescue and escape missions separately. The question remains if their paths will cross. To find out, tune in to MBC at 9:40 p.m. KST for the 90-minute-long episodes 11 and 12, which will be aired on October 13 (Friday) and October 14 (Saturday), respectively.
My Dearest Episode 10 recap: What happened so far?
K-drama My Dearest Episode 11 is set to continue from where Episode 10 ended. Set in the Joseon era, the first part’s finale was a rollercoaster of emotions that left fans feeling unsatisfied as Lee Jang-hyun and Yoo Gil-chae had to part ways.
Namkoong Min and Ahn Eun-jin’s characters fall in love, but a misunderstanding keeps them apart, like in My Dearest episode 10.
Jang-hyun was absent, so Woo-mon took the opportunity to propose to Gil-hae again. He led her to believe that he saved her at Ganghwa Island. She refused, fearing men would want to change her brazen attitude after marriage. However, Woo-mon confessed that he would marry her even if she had feelings for another man. Believing Jang-hyun was dead, Gil-chae accepted his proposal.
Jang-hyun returned with shoes for Gil-chae but was disappointed when he found out about her marriage. He clarified that he saved her on the island, but Gil-chae refused to break off the engagement as she had already become Woo-mon’s wife by accepting his gifts.
Jang-hyun didn’t give up, especially after discovering Gil-chae’s pain when she thought he was dead. He convinced her to run away with him. When Woo-mon discovered their plan, he used her father to lure her back. Gil-chae sent a letter and the gift of a chest full of shoes to Jang-hyun, explaining that she didn’t trust him. Jang-hyun waited for Gil-chae on a boat, but she never showed up. He read her letter, got furious, and threw her shoes in the river. Gil-chae watched as he sailed away.
With broken hearts, the lead characters parted ways. Part 1 of My Dearest ended on a cliffhanger, followed by a two-year time jump. Jang-hyun ran into bandits while saving runaway captives. One of the bandits with a mask turned out to be a woman. Episode 10 ended with an intense gaze between them.
Meanwhile, Part 2 of My Dearest is all set to air episodes on Fridays and Saturdays on MBC at 9:40 p.m. KST. The series will also be available on Viki with subtitles.
