Fantasy romance K-drama A Good Day to be a Dog is preparing for its much-awaited premiere on October 11, 2023, at 9 p.m. KST. The cast members attended the press conference the same day to introduce themselves and discuss filming the series officially.
Park Gyu-young, who plays the female lead, talked at length about her chemistry with co-star, ASTRO member Cha Eun-woo. Expressing that the lead couple had a great time working together, she said, “The laughter didn’t end. My character has a crush on Hyun-woo and romance with Eun-woo, so we had really great chemistry.”
A Good Day to be a Dog follows the story of a woman named Han Hae-na (Park Gyu-young), who is cursed to transform into a dog every time she kisses a man. The only person who has the power to undo her curse is her colleague Jin Seo-won (Cha Eun-woo). However, he is afraid of dogs due to a past incident that he can no longer remember.

Park Gyu-young and Cha Eun-woo were accompanied by Lee Hyun-woo, who plays Lee Bo-kyum, the lead couple’s colleague. The three posed for cameras along with the dog, who plays a central role in the K-drama, and spoke about how deeply they admired working with each other.
Park Gyu-young was all praise for Cha Eun-woo when she spoke about their chemistry together. She said, “Although Cha Eun-woo and I debuted at the same time, he is four years younger than me. He was present with reliable energy on set. He delivered bright energy while also holding the balance down firmly.”
In addition, she also complimented Lee Hyun-woo and noted that although they are of the same age, he was a much senior actor and that she learned a lot from him.

The cast members discussed the similarities to their characters. When asked how similar Park Gyu-young was to her character Han Hae-na, she said, “Hae-na is brighter and she has good energy, good stamina, and a good personality.” Expressing that she isn’t too close to dogs, she revealed that she learned a lot from her character.
Meanwhile, Cha Eun-woo noted that he was quite similar to his character Jin Seo-won. He said, “I’m cautious of people I’m meeting for the first time, and I hear from time to time that I give off a cold impression. I think those elements are similar.” However, he noted that the difference between both of them is that Eun-woo isn’t afraid of dogs.
Besides that, Lee Hyun-woo promised an event with people who raise pets if their viewership ratings surpass 8.5%. If over 8%, Park Gyu-young pledged to volunteer for a dog shelter. As of now, viewers will have to let time decide whether these ratings are met.
