The highly anticipated K-drama A Good Day To Be A Dog is all set to premiere on October 11, 2023. Starring ASTRO’s Cha Eun-woo and Park Gyu-young in the lead, MBC will air the first two episodes at 9 p.m. KST.
In a recent interview, Eun-woo, who plays Jin Seo-won in the series, opened up about his role, explaining that he had to kiss a dog. He mentioned that it was difficult for him to focus while filming with a canine.
Based on a webtoon of the same name, A Good Day To Be A Dog is about a woman named Han Hae-na (Gyu-young) who is cursed to turn into a dog when kissed by a man. To lift the curse, she needs to befriend Jin Seo-won, the only person who can help her. However, Seo-won is afraid of canines due to a past traumatic event.

Cha Eun-woo Reflects on Scenes With a Dog
As A Good Day To Be A Dog is set to premiere, lead actor Cha Eun-woo shares his experience while filming with a canine.
According to an article by Naver, FM4U’s DJ Jaejae asked the ASTRO member whether it was difficult for him to film with a dog. In response, Eun-woo admitted that it was difficult and said, “The dog is so cute, but it’s hard for me to focus my gaze on one place and don’t turn my head.”
Furthermore, he explained how he kissed a dog. He elaborated, “But I was in a situation where I had to kiss my dog, but he didn’t kiss me too much. So I put churr (dog treat) in my mouth so that the dog could lick the inside.” Eun-woo confessed that he was forced to eat the treat, which didn’t ”taste very good.”
In A Good Day To Be A Dog, the ASTRO singer’s character is afraid of dogs, while Park Gyu-young appears as Han Hae-na who turns into a pooch if kissed by a man. It is a family curse, and the transformation keeps repeating every midnight until the same person kisses them again.
In the series’ previous trailer, it showed that Hae-na turned into a dog after a drunk Seo-won accidentally kissed her. Now, he must kiss her back to break the curse, but his phobia makes things difficult for Hae-na.
Directed by Kim Dae-woong, the upcoming K-drama series’ cast includes Park Gyu-young as Han Hae-na, Cha Eun-woo as Jin Seo-won, Lee Hyun-woo as Lee Bo-gyeom, Yoon Hyun-soo as Choi Yool, and Kim Yi-kyeong as Min Ji-a, among others.
A Good Day To Be A Dog Preview Clip Sees Park Gyu-young Grab Cha Eun-woo’s Attention
Just before the premiere of A Good Day To Be A Dog, MBC released a preview featuring a scene from the series.
In the clip, Jin Seo-won walks in and sees his colleague Han Hae-na wiping dust from his desk. When he asks her what she is doing, Hae-na replies, “Oh my, all this dust on your desk… This isn’t good for your airway. Is it? I’m just worried about your health.” Seo-won responds coldly to her, but she continues seeking his attention and asking to have a meal with her. While the two banter, their colleague Lee Bo-gyeom watches them, teasing viewers with a potential love triangle.
Going by the teaser, it seems like Hae-na tries to befriend Seo-won as she knows he is the only person who can lift the curse.
