Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao‘s recent horror-comedy Stree 2 continues its strong box office run six days after its release. Released on August 15, 2024, the film has proven to be a major hit despite facing competition from Akshay Kumar’s Khel Khel Mein and John Abraham’s Vedaa. By Day 6, Stree 2 has solidified its place as one of the year’s top-grossing films.

Stree 2, directed by Amar Kaushik, has had an impressive run since its release. The film performed exceptionally well even on its first working day following the extended holiday weekend. According to early estimates, Stree 2 earned approximately $2.9 million in India on Day 6. This strong showing follows its remarkable performance over the weekend.
The film’s box office earnings so far have been breaking records one after another. On its opening day, Stree 2 raked in $6.1 million. It was followed by $3.7 million on Day 2, $5.2 million on Day 3, $6.6 million on Day 4, and $4.5 million on Day 5. With $2.9 million added on Day 6, Shraddha Kapoor’s latest movie has accumulated a total of $30.3 million in domestic collections.
Furthermore, according to industry tracker Sacnilk, the film saw a minimal drop of 35 percent from Monday’s collection. However, the Tuesday earnings surpassed the opening day figures of other big-budget films. This includes Hrithik Roshan’s Fighter and the Hindi version of Prabhas’ Kalki 2898 AD. Globally, the film has crossed the $41.7 million mark, further solidifying its position as a box office juggernaut.
For those unaware, the latest film is a sequel to the 2018 hit Stree. Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor reprise their roles in Stree 2. Additionally, they are joined by an ensemble cast, including Abhishek Banerjee, Pankaj Tripathi, and Aparshakti Khurana. The plot follows Vicky (Rao) and his friends as they confront a new spectral threat: a ghost with only a head, known as Sarkata.
