The much-anticipated sequel to Netflix’s 2021 hit thriller, Hasseen Dillruba, is gearing up to leave audiences aghast once again. Phir Aayi Hasseen Dillruba’s trailer has just been released, promising a blend of neo-noir-esque suspense drama with a gallop of Bollywood nostalgia. Featuring Taapsee Pannu, Vikrant Massey, and some new additions, the film is gearing up to be one to look out for.
Phir Aayi Hasseen Dillruba cast: Who are the actors?
As the trailer for Phir Aayi Hasseen Dillruba has finally dropped, fans of the original film can’t contain their excitement. After all, this follow-up hints at leaving the viewers on the edge of their seats just like the original, which went on to become a standout hit on the streaming platform.
The sequel picks up where the first movie left off, reintroducing viewers to Rani (Taapsee Pannu) and her husband Rishu (Vikrant Massey). Their scandalous past continues to haunt them as new hurdles arise, including the introduction of a new lover, Abhimanyu, played by Sunny Kaushal.
The trailer kicks off with Rani boasting about the wild lengths she and Rishu have gone to for love just like how she always wanted. As they leave their past and move forward Rishu, lays down a condition: their love must remain exclusive, with no third person coming between them. However, a new lover’s entrance challenges this fragile balance. After all, Rani’s affair with Rishu’s cousin Neel Tripathi is what got them here.
As Phir Aayi Hasseen Dillruba’s trailer reels, Vikrant Massey’s character is at it again to destroy Rani’s new lover Abhimanyu. However, the twist is he might not spare Rani as well. Adding to the antagonist’s list is Jimmy Shergill as Officer Mritunjay aka Neel’s maternal uncle.
All in all, as Rani aptly puts it, “If love doesn’t push you to the brink of insanity, it’s not true love. Only the meek seek refuge in passionless relationships.” Phir Aayi Hasseen Dillruba is releasing on August 9, 2024, exclusively on Netflix.
