While it has been a while since the movie was announced, its makers have fueled fans’ excitement with its much-awaited trailer. The clip has teased plot details and revealed the new supernatural entity haunting the town. However, another takeaway from the new clip is glimpses of Tamannaah Bhatia, which has got fans wondering about her role in the movie.
For the uninitiated, Stree 2’s precursor, Stree, the 2018 horror comedy, opened many doors for the genre in the film industry with its massive success. The movie thoroughly entertained the audience, which is why the buzz around its sequel is noteworthy. The Maddock Supernatural Universe was extended with Bhediya and Munjya.
What role does Tamannaah Bhatia plays in Stree 2?
Stree 2 will see the return of Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor to their respective characters. Moreover, Aparshakti Khurana, Abhishek Banerjee, and Pankaj Tripathi are also reprising their roles to join the team of Chanderi’s heroes. However, the trailer also revealed that Tamannaah Bhatia has joined the cast, and she seems to play the role of a dance girl. To note, the first installment also had a dance number by Nora Fatehi.
As the trailer proceeds, it is revealed that the franchise’s new villain is Sarkata Bhoot. Vicky reveals how dangerous the new ghost is when the citizens of Chanderi ask him to save them. Unlike Stree, it is the women of the town who are getting kidnapped. Amid the chaos, Tamannaah Bhatia’s character also gets trapped, which reveals that she might have a longer screen time. However, her participation in the movie is being called a cameo so far.
Stree 2 will hit theaters on August 15, 2024. It will clash with Vedaa and Khel Khel Mein at the box office.
