The much-anticipated anthology series Kamal Haasan‘s Manorathangal has finally revealed its OTT release date and platform. Created by a collective of eight directors and featuring many seasoned Malayalam actors, this series has kept the fans waiting for the past three years. Now, the makers have finally released its trailer, giving a sneak peek into the nine segments of the series.

Fans have been eagerly waiting for the release of Manorathangal, and the wait is almost over. The anthology series will be available on ZEE5 starting August 15, 2024. In addition, it will feature dubs in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Hindi. The series promises to be a grand celebration of Malayalam literature, bringing to life the iconic stories of Jnanpith Award-winning author MT Vasudevan Nair.
Manorathangal features a stellar cast, including Malayalam cinema legends like Kamal Haasan, Mammootty, Mohanlal, and Fahadh Faasil. The trailer, released by Saregama India Ltd on MT Vasudevan Nair’s 91st birthday, offers a glimpse into the storylines that await viewers.
Kamal Haasan opens the trailer with a tribute to MT Vasudevan Nair, stating, “In the history of Malayalam, Mr MT is the definition of modernization.” The trailer then transitions into scenes from each segment, showcasing the diverse themes, settings, and people involved. From the black-and-white aesthetics of Mohanlal’s segment to the intense storyline featuring Mammootty, the anthology captures various moods and eras.
The anthology also features segments like Olavum Theeravum directed by Priyadarshan, Kadugannawa Oru Yathra by Ranjith, Kazhcha by Shyamaprasad, and Shilalikhatam by Priyadarshan. Other than these, the anthology comprises of Vilpana by Aswathy V Nair, Sherlock by Mahesh Narayanan, and Swargam Thurakkunna Samayam by Jayarajan Nair.
Abhyam Theedi Vendum by Santosh Sivan and Kadalkkattu by Rathish Ambat round out the series. Additionally, the series includes performances by Parvathy Thiruvothu, Asif Ali, Biju Menon, Shanthi Krishna, Madhoo, Nadiya Moidu, Indrans, and Aparna Balamurali, among others.
With the release date now confirmed, anticipation for Manorathangal is at an all-time high.
