The Maddock Supernatural Universe is expanding and its latest instalment is the upcoming comedy-thriller, Stree 2. Following the positive response that the first movie received, fans are excited about its sequel. As the film’s release date has been confirmed, the makers unveiled its much-awaited teaser.
For the unversed, the 2018 horror comedy Stree follows the story of Vicky, a tailor from Chanderi. As the town is haunted by the spirit of a woman, he becomes the savior for all the men in the town. While the entire movie was filled with plot twists, the mystery around Shraddha Kapoor’s role intrigued the audiences the most. Besides Stree, the story is also connected with Munjya and Bhediya, that are also a part of the Maddock Supernatural Universe.
Stree 2 plot: What is Shraddha Kapoor’s new movie about?
Taking to their social media handles, the makers and cast of Stree 2 unveiled the teaser trailer. While it was officially released during Munjya’s screening, the fans can now access it digitally. The clip also confirms that the sequel will follow the events of the first film. It begins with a statue of Stree standing in Chanderi with “O Stree Raksha Karna (Stree, please protect us)” written at the bottom.
Following this scene, the original cast of the film is revealed, including Rajkummar Rao, Pankaj Tripathi, Abhishek Banerjee, and Aparshakti Khurana. The later scenes confirm that there will be a new spirit that will haunt the town. Shraddha Kapoor will also reprise her supernatural role and Tamannaah Bhatia will seemingly be making a special appearance. The teaser trailer ends with Vicky requesting Stree to not take away his clothes.
Evidently, Stree 2’s plot will again revolve around a new spirit in Chanderi. Despite the loose ends in the teaser trailer, it hinted that the film has a lot of comedy and horror elements in the storyline.
Directed by Amar Kaushik, Stree 2 will hit the theaters on August 15, 2024.
