Prabhas‘ most awaited film, Kalki 2898 AD, is less than a month away from its release date. As it inches closer, more details have been revealed regarding the upcoming title. The latest report has allegedly confirmed the film’s runtime.
Kalki 2898 AD is one of the most expensive Indian mythological sci-fi dramas. The movie boasts an ensemble cast that also features Amitabh Bachchan, Deepika Padukone, Kamal Haasan, and Disha Patani. Directed by Nag Ashwin, the film’s plot has been kept under wraps.
What is Kalki 2898 AD’s runtime?
Kalki 2898 AD will witness a worldwide release in the last week of June. Therefore, the pre-booking of the movie’s tickets will begin on June 8 in the US. Its distributor in the US, Prathyangira Cinemas, has disclosed details about the pre-sales. In their latest tweet, the distributors confirmed the movie’s runtime. Seemingly, the mythological sci-fi film will be 2 hours and 50 minutes long. However, an announcement from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) is still awaited.
The tweet read, “Bookings will open on or before June 8th! Which Cinemark location will you choose to experience the hysteria Rebels?”
So far, Nag Ashwin has confirmed that the story will begin in the era of Mahabharat. This will span till Kalki 2898 AD, which is said to mark the world’s destruction. Prabhas is playing the character of Bhairava, an avatar of Lord Vishnu. He also has an automobile with an AI assistant known as Bujji. Along with him, Amitabh Bachchan is set to portray the immortal Ashwatthama. However, the role of Deepika Padukone is still kept under wraps.
The film’s official synopsis read, “A modern-day avatar of Vishnu, a Hindu god, who is believed to have descended to earth to protect the world from evil forces.” Kalki 2898 AD will be released globally on June 27, 2024.
