Kalki 2898 AD is about a month away from its release date and the makers have begun its promotions. So far, they have unveiled Bhairava’s car, Bujji. While the makers are keeping fans updated, its producers have already begun earning money in the pre-release sales. The latest report claims that the makers have already earned millions in only the Telugu-speaking states.
Helmed by Nag Ashwin, Kalki 2898 AD is India’s first sci-fi dystopian film. It allegedly begins with the events of Mahabharata and spans thousands of years. Led by Prabhas, the movie will see Deepika Padukone play the leading lady. Amitabh Bachchan will portray the immortal Ashwatthama, Disha Patani will play a supporting role, and Kamal Haasan has an extended cameo.
How much did Kalki 2898 AD earn in pre-release business?
Amid the ongoing promotions of the movie, a report by OTTplay has revealed that the pre-release sales of the movie seem promising. Allegedly, Vyjayanthi Movies, the production house which is generously bankrolling the film, is being very careful in selling it. Therefore, they have already begun making millions. Per the report, the makers have sold the distribution rights of the movie for about $15.6 million in the Telugu states. The buzz around the Prabhas starrer is massive and it is evident from the sum the makers have already started making.
Moreover, the production company is releasing the film independently. It seems that the producers of the film are being very careful when it comes to distribution. The movie’s alleged budget is about $72 million which makes it one of the most expensive films in India. Seeing Prabhas’ previous heavy-budget movies’ failure, fans are waiting to watch him get back to his Baahubali era and mint millions with the upcoming film.
