Amazon Prime Video finally released the highly anticipated Panchayat season 3 on May 28, 2024. Along with the release came a flurry of reactions, reviews, and queries. One looming question that persisted is what happened at the end of the latest season. Who shot Pradhan Ji? What will happen to Sachiv Ji and MLA? Will there be Panchayat season 4? Read on to know more about it.
What happened in Jitendra Kumar’s Amazon Prime Video series?
The new season starts with Abhishek Tripathi, the central character, facing a transfer to Bhaypura, orchestrated by the scheming MLA Chandrakishore Singh. A new secretary is ready to replace him, but Pradhan Ji, Vikash, and Prahlad Cha are not having it. Through a series of strategic moves and unexpected jail to the MLA leads to Abhishek finding his way back to Phulera.
For those unaware, in Panchayat season 2, Bhushan was a thorn in Pradhan Ji’s side, but this season, he turns up the heat. Along with his wife, Kranti Devi, and his loyal sidekicks, Binod and Madhav, Bhushan is more determined than ever to dethrone Pradhan Ji and Manju Devi. His alliance with MLA Chandrakishore, who has a vendetta against Pradhan Ji and Abhishek, intensifies the conflict.
Bhushan leverages the PM Awas Yojana housing scheme, accusing Pradhan Ji of favoritism and corruption. This accusation fuels discontent among the villagers and sets the Panchayat season 3 for heightened tensions. Furthermore, when MLA Chandrakishore is released from jail, he eagerly joins forces with Bhushan, further fueling the fire.
One notable incident involves a peace agreement proposed by the MLA. Additionally, to symbolize the same, he orders the release of a white pigeon during his visit. However, the plan backfires when the pigeon dies the moment he releases it. Hence, this turns the villagers against Singh, forcing him to flee again.
For those unaware, MLA was sentenced to jail due to the alleged murder of his neighbor’s dog and another death of an animal led to a misstep. Furthermore, Singh’s attempts to punish Bum Bahadur (owner of the pigeons) for exposing his cruelty in the media intensified the season for a battle.
Amidst these conflicts, MLA’s astrologer advises him to sell his horse to avoid further scandal. Pradhan Ji and his people seize this opportunity to arrange for villagers to purchase the horse under the guise of outsiders. This strategic move strikes a significant blow to Singh’s pride and power.
Panchayat season 3 ending: Who shot Pradhan Ji?
The final episode sees MLA’s anger boiling over after the horse deal. He leads an armed assault on Phulera, but the villagers, armed with sticks and guns, stand their ground. A senior politician’s intervention prevents an all-out war, leading to a tense standoff with shots fired into the air.
A few days later, as Abhishek prepares to leave for his CAT exam, he and his friends are ambushed by gunmen, resulting in Pradhan Ji being shot in the shoulder. At the hospital, Abhishek confronts MLA and Bhushan, accusing them of orchestrating the attack. The MLA denies involvement, suggesting that Pradhan Ji might have staged the attack to gain sympathy votes.
This accusation leads to a physical altercation, resulting in both groups being detained at the police station. Again, this leaves the fans with a cliffhanger on what will happen next, much like its predecessor. Will Sachiv Ji, Pradhan, and the MLA lose their positions? Who wants to kill Pradhan Ji of Phulera? How will Rinki and Sachiv Ji’s relationship blossom?
Will there be Panchayat season 4?
Fans can look forward to more from the Panchayat series, as director Deepak Kumar Mishra has confirmed plans for at least two more seasons. Work on Panchayat season 4 is already underway, with several episodes written. He shared, “We have started writing season four. For us, generally, there’s no break between two seasons. The third season is over, and we have written three to four episodes of season four. So far, we have thought about making seasons four and five. For season four, we have a clear idea, and there is a broader idea for season five.”
Furthermore, he emphasized the importance of staying true to the show’s essence while ensuring the new seasons are even more entertaining and emotional. He stated, “We made sure that we made the right content and retained the core soul of the show. We wanted to take the story forward organically. However, we have to make sure that the new season is more entertaining and emotional.”
In conclusion, Panchayat season 3’s ending leaves viewers with suspense and excitement for what’s to come. After all, with the confirmation of Panchayat seasons 4 and 5, the new seasons promise to showcase what happens in the panchayat elections and do the tensions get resolved.
