The much-anticipated Akshay Kumar‘s Welcome 3, aka Welcome to The Jungle, has been making much buzz lately. From its original casting coup to sneak peeks at upcoming film production, the third installment has only heightened fans’ anticipation. However, recent developments suggest that Sanjay Dutt, one of the film’s key actors, has exited the project.
Is Sanjay Dutt okay?
An exclusive update from Pinkvilla has revealed the Bhoomi actor has stepped away from Welcome To The Jungle due to health reasons. Contrary to reports suggesting a 15-day shoot, Dutt had only filmed for a single day on Madh Island. The role required extensive action scenes, which led him to reconsider his participation, prioritizing his health over the strenuous demands of the role.
On the other hand, other reports suggest scheduling conflicts are the primary reason for his exit. A source quoted by Bollywood Hungama said, “Sanjay Dutt has cited date issues for his exit. He has conveyed all the issues to his dear friend Akshay, who took the points into account and holds no bad blood. Sanjay Dutt felt that the Welcome To The Jungle shoot was happening in an unplanned way. With too many changes in the script, disturbing his diary of the shoot, and hence has parted ways.”
This leaves the filmmakers in a dilemma. Dutt has filmed some comedic scenes. Hence, they now face the decision of either reshooting his parts or finding a way to write his character out of the script. The source further added, “The makers are tempted to resume it and credit Sanjay Dutt for a guest appearance.” However, no official statements have been made by either Dutt or the production team.
As of now, the reasons behind Sanjay Dutt’s departure from Welcome 3 are still debated. Whether due to health issues or scheduling conflicts, the film continues to be highly anticipated.
