Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi’s Ramayana To Release in Two Parts?

Ranbir Kapoor and Sai Pallavi’s upcoming film Ramayana has been in the headlines since its announcement. From casting coups to grand sets, the Nitesh Tiwari directorial is turning out to be the year’s highly anticipated film. The latest reports suggest the film is opting for a release plan different from the original one, heightening the anticipation among fans.

Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi’s Ramayana to release in two parts instead of a trilogy?

The much-awaited Ramayana adaptation will reportedly be released in two parts rather than the initially planned trilogy. The decision to split the film into two parts instead of having a trilogy was driven by its expansive scope.

“Given the scale and magnitude of the film, the makers have opted for a two-part approach to tell the story,” explained a source close to the production. In detail, Ranbir Kapoor’s film is opting for a different course from the usual trend. Unlike many films that wait to gauge the success of the first part before proceeding with sequels, Ramayana will be filmed in its entirety across both parts simultaneously.

Principal photography for both parts of Ramayana is slated to end by December 2025. Post-production work will be conducted during the shooting to ensure the films maintain a “consistency of looks for the actors.” The exact release dates for the two parts will be announced once the first part’s filming is complete.

The source further added, “The team has chalked out a 350-day shoot schedule for the two Ramayana films, which includes combination scenes of the extended star cast as also their solo sequences. The two Ramayana films will be released in one year span.”

The upcoming film boasts a stellar star cast with Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram and Sai Pallavi as Sita. Furthermore, it features Yash as Raavan, Sunny Deol as Lord Hanuman, and more. Filming began in Mumbai in March and has been progressing steadily.
