Following the success of Gaami, Vishwak Sen is now gearing up to enthrall audiences with his upcoming thriller Gangs of Godavari. While the movie has already faced several delays, makers recently announced its new release date. Initially slated to premiere on March 8, 2024, the film encountered production issues that prevented its theatrical debut. Subsequently, the makers rescheduled its release to May 17, but unexpectedly, they again postponed it.
Directed by Krishna Chaitanya, the film features Neha Shetty, Anjali, Nassar, Sai Kumar, Goparaju Ramana, and Hyper Aadi. It is being produced under the joint banners of Sithara Entertainments and Fortune Four Cinemas.
Set in the backdrop of the Godavari region, the film promises to deliver an action village drama. Vishwak plays the role of a Lankala Rathna, who fights against powerful people in his area. Recently, Vishwak confirmed his role, stating, “I play Lankala Rathna, a member of the tribal community who transforms from a petty thief to a powerful gangster and politician. This is the best role I’ve played in my career. I like to push the envelope and experiment with my characters.”
Gangs of Godavari gets new release date
The new release date announcement for Gangs of Godavari has reignited excitement among fans eagerly awaiting the film’s arrival. The production house took to X (formerly Twitter) to share the news. They wrote, “Our gutsy Gangster ??????? ?????? to arrive a little late but with a big Bang!. After 5 years we coming to theatres on the same date as #FalaknumaDas, on 31st May to create history worldwide with #GangsOfGodavari.”
Moreover, producer Naga Vamsi’s confirmation of a sequel to the film indicates that the team has ambitious plans for the franchise. Director Krishna’s preparedness for a sequel is contingent upon the success of the first installment.
With its new release date being set as May 31, 2024, fans are eagerly awaiting to witness the gripping storyline.
