Acclaimed Malayalam actor Fahadh Faasil, whose latest movie, Aavesham, has been setting records at the box office, recently made headlines for praising Bollywood actor Ranbir Kapoor. In a recent conversation, Fahadh expressed his admiration for Kapoor, going as far as labeling him as the ‘best actor in the country’.

In a recent interview with Film Companion, Fahadh Faasil shared his insights on cinema and his peers. Despite being hailed as a ‘pan-India star’, he stated that he sees himself simply as an actor passionate about his craft.
In detail, he emphasized his preference for movies that resonate with him rather than focusing solely on making as a ‘pan-India star’. Fahadh Faasil further exclaimed, “I don’t have to hide anything, I have to be honest. I am doing my stuff here. No disrespect to anything. I don’t think people expect magic from me, from Pushpa. It’s a pure collaboration, love for Suku [Sukumar] Sir. My stuff is here. Very clearly. It doesn’t get to me.”
In addition, regarding his peers, Fahadh didn’t shy away from acknowledging the talent of actors like Vicky Kaushal, Rajkummar Rao, and Ranbir Kapoor. In other words, the actors he considers highly talented in their own right. He shared, “I and a lot of my friends here think and believe that Vicky Kaushal is the find of the decade. Rajkummar Rao is one of the finest actors India has ever produced. Ranbir [Kapoor], I mean, the best actor in the country. So, I don’t know what they see in me.”
Reflecting on his own stature as an actor and the notion of being hailed as a ‘pan-India actor’, Fahadh dismissed such labels. He explained his identity is solely as an actor driven by passion and authenticity. He elucidated, “No, I am just an actor. I have nothing to do with pan-India. I just do my stuff.”
