Toxic Cast Update: Kareena Kapoor Khan Quits?

Yash’s upcoming project Toxic is one of the most awaited movies of 2025. The KGF actor will return to the silver screens after three years. While the film is still months away, rumors about its cast have been making rounds. Many reports have claimed that Kareena Kapoor Khan will play a crucial role in the movie. However, the latest one claims that the actress has stepped out of the project.

Directed by Geetu Mohandas, Toxic was announced in December 2023. It will mark Yash’s first project after his blockbuster film KGF: Chapter 2. While the cast has not been revealed, Kareena Kapoor Khan’s name had initially surfaced via several reports. In an interview, the Crew actress also confirmed that she is set to make her debut in South Indian cinema but did not name the project.

Kareena Kapoor Khan is no longer a part of Yash’s Toxic?

According to a report by Pinkvilla, Kareena Kapoor Khan has walked out of the film. A source close to the development revealed that the actress’s availability does not align with the filming schedule. The source said, “Kareena Kapoor’s dates do not align with the dates of Yash for Toxic. After making efforts to set the calendar right, the makers have amicably parted ways.”

As earlier reports have confirmed, Kareena Kapoor Khan was roped in to play Yash’s sister in the movie. However, makers have already begun casting for the role following her alleged exit. The source added, “Toxic has a strong sibling emotion and the part of the sister is very crucial to the narrative, warranting the presence of a top star. The makers are looking to cast actresses with Pan India presence for the part.”

Besides Kareena, Kiara Advani is touted to portray a crucial part of the film. However, an official announcement regarding the film’s cast is still awaited.

Toxic is slated to release on April 10, 2025.
