Malayalam star Mohanlal’s filmography is as long as it could be. While the actor is among the most active stars in the industry, he has a number of movies lined up in his kitty. One of the most anticipated upcoming films is L2: Empuraan, aka L2E. The movie marks the sequel to his 2019 hit movie Lucifer. The film franchise is set to have three parts.
Directed by Prithviraj Sukumaran, the movie is the third collaboration between him and Mohanlal. Sukumaran also plays a crucial role in the film franchise. L2: Empuraan reportedly went on floors in October 2023 with extensive shoots scheduled across various locations. According to a report by OTTplay, fans might get to witness Mohanlal’s first look from L2: Empuraan soon. Rumors are rife that the first look will be released on May 21, 2024, which also marks the Malayalam actor’s birthday. Moreover, the announcement is expected to have a special birthday teaser. However, the movie’s team has not officially confirmed the report yet.
It is also being reported that the movie’s team is planning to begin a new schedule of L2: Empuraan soon. Kerala’s capital, Thiruvananthapuram, was touted to be the location for the next schedule, but it has now been allegedly delayed. On the other hand, the movie’s team is also aiming to wrap up the Gujarat schedule soon. If the reports are to be believed, the Kerala portion of the movie is expected to begin in June.
For the unversed, Mohanlal is currently shooting for his upcoming movie tentatively titled L360. Helmed by Tharun Moorthy, the movie marks the 360th project of his career. The shoot for L360 began a few weeks ago. He is reportedly planning to finish his part of the shoot soon and then join the L2E team. More updates on the movie are awaited.
