Tamil Movie Asuraguru OTT Release Date Revealed

After nearly four years since its theatrical release, the Tamil film Asuraguru is poised to make its digital debut. Recently, an OTT giant confirmed that the Tamil film will soon be available on the platform in Telugu language.

Directed by A. Rajdeep, the film was originally premiered in theaters on March 13, 2020, for the Tamil belt. The film cast includes Vikram Prabhu, Mahima Nambiar, Subbaraju, Yogi Babu, Jagan, Nagineedu, and others. Asuraguru was bankrolled by J.S.B under his own production company JSB Film Studios.

Unfortunately, this film failed to make an impact at the box office upon its theatrical release. Reportedly, the film earned around $95 thousand on its opening day and received a rating of 3.2 out of 10 on IMDb.

The film follows the story of Shakti, who has been obsessed with money since his childhood. Moreover, he possesses great knowledge of modern technology which he later uses for theft. However, the story takes an unexpected turn when he decides to use the stolen money for a noble cause.

When will Asuraguru arrive on OTT?

Despite facing challenges during its theatrical release, Asuraguru is set to make a digital debut on the Aha video platform. Recently, Aha video secured the OTT rights for the film and announced its world digital premiere by releasing a one-minute and fifty-four-second Telugu trailer. Viewers can catch the movie on Aha video starting May 3.

According to OTTplay, the platform didn’t spend much money to acquire its OTT rights. Instead, they aimed to diversify their library with a few Tamil and Malayalam films to attract more viewers.

In addition to the list, Aha video also secured the OTT rights for another film, Siddharth Roy, which will also start streaming from May 3rd. Fans eagerly awaiting both films can soon enjoy them from their home comfort.

However, despite its failure at the theatrical release, it will be intriguing to see how the audience will react upon its digital debut.
